With stress about Tapas and the drama that happened at my main job today (like, I was suddenly transferred without notice and couldn't say goodbye to my coworker friends), I have run myself into a high fever.
I knew the ink store would close...but not TODAY. I had planned to keep writing until December or until a good spot to stop. I am devastated. I had readers who told me they were going to binge buy to keep supporting. I still dont know what is happening to my contracts....

I remember seeing his post on LinkedIn yesterday.
If this information is true, I really hope an announcement is made really soon. This will impact everyone who followed, reads, and creates Premium and Original content.

More information has emerged following Kakao's decision to shut down Tapas, bringing renewed attention to digital ownership issues
Tapas founder Chang Kim claims that the service is being consolidated into Kakao's Korean platform, KakaoPage, rather than simply disappearing
He says it is still unclear whether users' account data and in-app credits/currency will carry over
Kim also criticized Kakao for not telling users and creators about the change before the news was reported by business media
He says Tapas was making nearly $40M per year and was profitable when it was sold to Kakao in 2021, underscoring how unpredictable the future of digital platforms can be

I literally want to cry. Many are suddenly subbing to VLO and binge reading. Since the news last week, I recieved 155,000 ink donations. I feel so appreciated but feel guilty for what's happening 😭🫂
As readers learn about the shutdown, losing subs has begun. All of my books except 1 have lost around 10 since Tuesday 😭

I need a settlement from Kakao for emotional distress, I've literally lost 4 pounds, can't sleep, and skipping breakfast/lunch from lack of appetite. I also had to email the artist that I have to cancel my new "Bondage" cover. I constantly want to cry at work. Ugh.
I just realized my two little omegaverse books were in what was probably the last big Tapas ink event...
My edits have officially ended and no editor now, so I guess this means no more chapters? I'm still trying to figure things out... please 😭😭😭😭

It seems that it wasn’t Kakao’s intention (yet) for things to come out as they did. So to deal with the aftermath, they’ve officially laid us all off but management doesn’t really understand what’s happening. We got a very mixed general message of “well… this is it! Bye guys!”.
