TBH I dislike that nitw's identity online has just become "be gay do crime" because I feel like the game directly caricaturizes this sort of activism to tell you it's futile if you're not willing to do anything about it and community is the most important political force you have

i first played it when i was like 14 and was like haha cool and now i am not far apart in age to these characters and its not so lighthearted anymore

When I first played Night in the Woods I was like 18 years old or whatever and I was like wow this is so good and compelling I really love these characters! I went to replay it and it made me feel so sick I had to lie down. Maybe another time.
