Changes day to day which babs backstory I mainly think about but I do love the concept of Jim, panicking, trying to get his orphan friend tm to help and it being less than successful. Dw Bruce that’s your future coworker #barbaragordon #brucewayne

God what a beautiful vision it is though... Dinahs the only one who can get away with overpowering Babs agency and choices the way she does. Like she IS going in there and telling her I don't fucking care what you're doing we're leaving or I'm staying here which I won't so we're+

They’re doing to him what they did to her in Tom Taylor’s Nightwing and it’s amazing

I'm very fond of Dick being the boy next door trope to Babs in the birds of prey ya novel. Dick Grayson embrace your manic pixie boy spirit #nextplease

“kory deserves better than dick” “babs deserves better than dick” see these are valid opinions but i also don’t believe 95% of the people who say them because they’ll always ship him with the other while bad faithing/emphasizing the conflict in the pairing they don’t like

likeeee she's always been feminine and this is the norm so let's not start a "let women be feminine" movement but we can also #observe how she's MORE feminine and sexualized when she's not portrayed as a visibly disabled woman...there's levels to this ! nuance !

A lot of people need to start actually reading for female comic characters instead of vaguely pedestalising them

like myyyyy personal interpretation of the batgirl —> oracle maturity and butch identity ties into babs discovering who she IS and not who she always thought she had to be, where her whole life (even as batgirl) she was boxed in as a girl/feminine due to gendered expectation

unfortunately the ceo of butch oracle does not care if babs isn’t hyperfeminine so long as she isn’t presented as unkept or degendered entirely. fork found in kitchen

Notice how in “the batfam needs to be smaller” discussions they always leave out most of the girls and poc characters

If i say reducing babs into a basement dwelling nerd is ableist rhetoric when we literally got decades of portrayals of her femininity

this discussion about babs' femininity can be interesting if we're addressing how feminity is what's expected of women vs how paradoxically disabled women are often degendered...i feel disencouraged to discuss this on dctwt though so #nottoday
