Important read.
Several new stadiums are emerging in different cities in India, but how safe are they really for women travelling to and from late-night games?
@swaris16 looks at a subject that rarely gets the attention it deserves.

Mishti Momos, Chikni Aatma - the potential multi-million investor of Madhya Pradesh.
Was clearly underestimating CM Mohan Yadav!
Newslaundry accessed and examined the list of investment proposals that were mentioned in Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav’s February reply.
Its biggest entry, worth Rs 3 lakh crore, is from a company set up less than eight months before the summit, which ended its first year with Rs 10,556 in cash and bank balance.

DIlwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge did to Karwachauth what Indira Gandhi did to Banks, nationalize them.
Can't agree more with @stevenstrogatz that the work of @3blue1brown is a gift to the universe. I wish for many children to discover the joys of mathematics through his videos.
Replying to @stevenstrogatz
@stevenstrogatz on rizz being in demand.
Incidentally, if I had to sum up why talking with him is so consistently delightful in one word, rizz is not a bad choice!

The micropipette was developed in just two days. The vortex mixer was prototyped over three days.
Our modern micropipette design stems from Heinrich Schnitger, a 32-year-old German postdoc who threw a tantrum while mouth pipetting, vanished from the laboratory, and returned “with a self-designed tool to pipette microlitre volumes.” Schnitger's patent was granted in 1961, and his design had “all the essential features of the modern pipette,” according to a close witness of the invention, including a spring-loaded piston, second spring to shoot out residual liquid, and plastic tip.
The vortex mixer, invented by the brothers Jack and Harold Kraft, was "sketched out...on October 20, 1958. Just three days later, they had built their first prototype using the same kind of shaded pole AC motor found in ...record players."
These stories and dozens more can be found in our newest book, Making the Modern Laboratory: press.asimov.com/articles/mo…

These far-right Hindu nationalists don't read the books they so enthusiastically recommend. Perhaps they just ask ChatGPT for books where the many Gods of Congress get a good bashing? Otherwise, how does one recommend Lohia—the attached image is from the same book—so cheerfully?!
Highly recommend राममनोहर लोहिया भारत विभाजन के गुनहगार. Read this alongside Maulana Azad’s India Wins Freedom, and you may find yourself questioning Azad’s claim that he fought tooth and nail to prevent Partition. Lohia’s account offers a sharply contrasting perspective and challenges the version of history Azad presented in his memoir.
