I am gonna tell you a tale today. So there's this region in some far off land that holds around 50% of the country's iron ore reserves. This region fulfilled most of the need, its countrymen had. From defense to healthcare, from exports to education, every industry requires iron, right? The demand for iron was unrefutedly high. So you would think the rulers of that land would facilitate its extration and transportation by building better roads, right? But turns out it's one of the most difficult jobs for that nation, which had built 37 kms of road a day(apparently a world record), which had developed nuclear weapons on its own, which was the first country to land on the southern pole of the planet's natural satellite. Media reports suggest that this "industrial" road was first conceptualized in 2007, 60 years after an apparent renaissance the country went through. It was being built using Private-public partnership. A road was built, the authorities took toll but the roads remained death traps. After almost 10 years and immeasurable loss of human-life standards due to lack of connectivity, the rulers again rose and proclaimed,"WE SHALL BUILD A FOURWAY". They approved 57 crore coins in 2017 and 47 crore coins in 2018. But the fourway existed only on the parchments, the govt officials held. Then the Rulers were overthrown, new rulers came in. They rose even higher,"WE SHALL BUILD A SIX LANE, MOREOVER 2 LANES MORE OF SERVICE ROADS." They sanctioned 1400 crores of coins in 2025. It's only one year now since. Sounds like only a second in comparison to previous time-scales. But the roads resemble more of ponds and lakes than some infrastructure a human being of the 21st century should inhabit. What is worse is the People of this country, the rulers and the rulled alike, value the iron ores more than the human-resource that lives beside it. A life lost due to delay in the movement of the emergency healthcare vehicle, a young adult sitting at home rather than opting for higher education or jobs in some foreign lands due to dearth of transportation chariots service, a family of three on their smaller vehicle crushed under an unruly charioteer of a bigger vehicle, is a collective shame on all the inhabitants of that nation. But shame is a relative concept. It only hurts you when your share from the pie is withdrawn. #notAtruestory🤞
