Change is coming but process reorganization in enterprises is glacial +AI is still buggy. Some roles/processes will radically change, eg devs, others will disappear completely (or change then disappear). Who/which will be hit the hardest, when & the sequence of events are TBD.
IaC is dead. Sorry DevOps / SREs / Cloud Engineers but you're in for the same roller coaster as Devs. AI can manage infra change better than you. Unfortunately for IaC, we don't need code because with the actual system source code and the infra, AIs have everything needed to determine change sets / approvals and dev env lensing. btw, Effect Oriented Programming probably will help you get there; but that is inevitable for your codebase.

Articles about AI written by AI. Next, I would love to see a string of comments by AI.

Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts (as seen at a former CVS in Venice, California)

One of the big topics we discussed in the interviews at @AllThingsOpen was maintainer burnout. This xkcd cartoon was cited by at least half of the people. It does a great job of illustrating why we should all be concerned. xkcd #2347: "Dependency"

Enjoyed talking AI hype vs. the dot-com era with @tlberglund of @confluentinc. His take: AI strategy is really a data problem in disguise. And why he thinks LLMs won’t replace devs. allthingsopen.org/articles/a… Back at @AllThingsOpen in Raleigh in ~10 days. Stop by and say hi!

Now THIS is a speakers gift. This is a rodeo-grade buckle was bestowed upon @autopticio's @ernestmueller by the @DevOpsDaysDFW organizers. Ernest proved his meddle when recruited at the last minute to do the closing keynote when the scheduled speaker had to drop out.

cont -- Brian Buege of Google's device labs: 3) Data centers can't expand forever: on-device needed for spatial compute, low latency (real-time translation), performance, privacy, & cost 4) Within a ~year agents to be a customer of your tooling -> design for them. @DevOpsDaysDFW
