Nailed it. It’s become junk at best.
Yikes. A masterpiece of an ad.
Volvo posted a 3 min and 46 second ad on Instagram, shot by Hoyte Van Hoytema, the cinematographer of Interstellar and Oppenheimer.
It goes against every single rule you can think about as a social lead. Length. Format. Over-produced.
Every comment under the ad said it immediately put Volvo in their consideration set. It's fucking fantastic.

The idea that renting should be just as good as homeowning is key to our work at Better Renting, so we're excited about this report from @AHURI_research. More Aussies are renting for longer; they shouldn't have to wait until they can buy to feel like real life has begun.

We have to do better for renters - starting with longer leases & better conditions.
But also by giving renters pathways to home ownership: through rent to buy, help to buy or other schemes.
Most of all we need a plan for migration & an ⬆️ in 🏠 supply.

We are fortunate to work with so many agencies who care about the renters they serve and understand that the benefits of payments tech should not be at the renter’s expense.

This Craigslist ad for a 1999 Toyota Corolla is a masterclass in copywriting.
This is spot on. It’s the problem with looking at high performers in your field and simply trying to mimic what they do expecting the same outcome.
This is a pretty massive CX flex

Interesting. ‘Disruption’ rarely looks as disruptive when those companies have to achieve profitability. Uber is a shadow of its former self from a customer point of view so that it can do this. I’d argue it’s now worse than taxis were more often than not.

Midjourney version 6 was released two hours ago, and it's incredible.
I compared it to the previous version 5.2 across 15 very different image categories.

Kudos @VirginAustralia . Checked my bag and even though I had disembarked quickly this little gem popped straight up with my bag waiting. Can’t believe how seamlessly this happened. Terrific experience 🙌

Between 2021 and 2022, there were only 630 net additional social houses built. At that rate of construction, it will take over 80 years to house all the people on the waiting list. We need urgent and sustained investment in social housing across NSW.
This is a terrific bit of work with a series of important recommendations for improving rent tech. It’s also soul destroying to see Kolmeo referred to as a ‘payment app’ 😩@DRWaus we’d love to have you see what Kolmeo is and why we are building it if you’d ever like to meet us.
Over the past year we've been doing a lot of advocacy for renters' digital rights and for the regulation of RentTech. With federal and state-based inquiries underway, we've put together a small explainer with links to our work and other resources:

One of the most accurate things I’ve seen on twitter! Building Kolmeo has been CRAZY hard. Every founder I know has similar horror stories. Big ideas take huge sacrifice.
This is really well put. It’s also why most good business schools use case studies to show how hard attribution is when studying things that work (or don’t) rather than prescribing nonsense like ‘follow these 5 steps’ type of frameworks or advice
