Should we invest more in refs?
🤑 Financial rules are meant to favour wealthy clubs - but as Tottenham and Man Utd are showing, all that money isn’t much use if you spend it badly.

The referee’s call of no red card to Bogle for the challenge on Tel was checked and confirmed by VAR.
VAR: “I'm confirming the on-field decision of no red card. There’s a lack of speed going into the challenge and he’s stepping into the tackle. Confirming a reckless challenge”.
Hold on
Though holding was allowed

VAR recommended an on-field review for a potential penalty to Arsenal for a challenge by Mendy on Havertz - but determined that Havertz was in an offside position in the build-up.
REF: “After review, there is a holding offence by Blue No.32 on Red No.29. However, Red No.29 is in an offside position, so the final decision will be a free-kick for offside to Hull City”.

Ranked choice voting is not what you say it is
This is what ranked-choice voting is designed to do. In Alaska’s gubernatorial race, the Republican vote has split three ways, meaning that when all is said and done the lone Democrat will win—in a state that went for Trump by 13 points two years ago.
The purpose of RCV is to elect Democrats. You’d think my fellow Alaska voters would have figured that out by now. Guess not.
