I've been working on a side project I'm really excited about. I've always wanted a smart podcast player that helps me remember and revisit key moments, insights, book recommendations, or people from episodes. After trying several tools that didn't fully meet my needs, I decided to build it myself. The result is PodLume. It's still early but ready to try. Check it out at podlume.ai available on web and iOS. Any feedback or support is greatly appreciated! @podlume

There is absolutely zero reason my beautiful 17 year-old daughter should be studying Calculus Happy to let our AI overlords take that off her hands

My watch died in the middle of the workout this morning. So I basically worked out for nothing.

Drug addiction makes you cynical. It's your brain's way of convincing you to get high because "everything is fucked".

TransCanada’s Energy East was proposed in 2013: a 4,600-km line converting existing pipe and adding new steel to move 1.1 million barrels a day of Western crude to Quebec and New Brunswick refineries and an Atlantic export terminal. It was nation-building infrastructure—energy security, jobs, and markets beyond the U.S.—a decade before today’s talk of corridors and Team Canada. I was with TC at the time. My team did the hydraulics, chose the path, and selected the pump locations. It was visionary and ahead of its time. Then Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre led the opposition, asking what was in it for Montreal and citing spill risk over national benefit. Quebec municipal resistance, tougher reviews, and low oil prices followed. TransCanada cancelled the project in October 2017. I'll never forget the cheers from Quebec. They were certain is was the beginning of the end of Alberta. No unified national push existed then. A project that would have strengthened Canada’s energy position died on regional veto and short-term politics. The missed opportunity still haunts me.

Honestly, all any guy needs to do is to go into any department store and visit the skincare section and start talking to the staff about products. Buy some and use it. Go back a couple of times and ask the one you've made a connection with out. No app needed.

Tech leaders warn enterprise data risks are driving a sovereign AI shift This episode exposes the critical tension between rapid AI adoption and data privacy, alongside the real-world economic pressures facing major tech hubs like California. As enterprises wake up to the risks of sharing proprietary data with frontier labs, the push for sovereign AI and open-source models is accelerating, fundamentally reshaping how companies protect their intellectual property. A key partnership between Palantir and Nvidia highlights a shift toward a hybrid AI stack, where businesses deploy local hardware alongside cloud infrastructure to maintain control over their data and lower token costs. While some fear immediate automation-driven job losses, recent employment data indicates that firms adopting artificial intelligence are actually growing their headcounts, even as roles in customer support face disruption. The conversation shifts from technological disruption to fiscal reality as the hosts dissect California's severe budget crisis, pointing to accounting maneuvers, ballooning liabilities, and the exodus of high earners. 👀 Don't miss: David Friedberg breaks down California's budget crisis, exposing the accounting tricks and long-term liabilities threatening the state's economy. 🔗 All-In with Chamath, Jason, Sacks & Friedberg — To follow weekly deep dives into technology, market trends, and economic policy. 🎧 Listen to this episode on PodLume — the link is in the reply below 👇
