Today we are putting federal infrastructure $ to work in Middletown, fixing one of the most dangerous merges in the state - Route 17 onto Route 9, in the process freeing up land for the Return to the Riverfront. Great to welcome @GovNedLamont for this exciting groundbreaking.

You know the on-ramp that connects Rte 17 to Rte 9 NB in Middletown? The one with the stop sign that requires drivers to stop and then accelerate onto the freeway. I’m headed there today to announce that we’re investing BIL funds to reconfigure it, remove the 🛑 and make it safer

America is caught in a downward spiral of aloneness. - social media addiction leads to less interest in in person extracurricular activity - less demand for formal and informal extracurricular activities leads to less supply - leading to more time for social media

If more Senators had teenagers we would be spending more time on combatting the overall rotting effect of social media on kids compared to the national security implications of one social media site.

My Chief of Staff & I were honored to help cut the jump rope (we don't cut ribbons!) to help open Middletown's new Rec Center. Incredible community space right next to Beman Middle School - a big thank you to ⁦@bdflorsheim⁩ & everyone in the City who made this possible.

Fact: Middletown has hands down one of the best downtowns in Connecticut. Great to be there today visiting some amazing businesses to talk about @MyCTSavings!

Partnership between CT and @RIPMedicalDebt is an idea so brilliant I’m angry I didn’t think of it. Looking forward to hearing more about this from @GovNedLamont
Two-thirds of personal bankruptcies are caused by medical debt. The budget that I will present to the legislature next week includes a provision that has the potential to cancel billions in medical debt for thousands of Connecticut residents. MORE ➡️ portal.ct.gov/Office-of-the-…

Health care is a human right and no one should go into debt for seeing a doctor. I applaud @GovNedLamont for this bold proposal and urge the legislature to pass it so that we can lift this financial and emotional burden off of our residents. ctmirror.org/2023/02/02/ct-c…

The Arrigoni Bridge which connects #Portand and #Middletown will be one of four bridges featured on new @USPS stamps in 2023! Its two distinctive 600-ft steel arches have the longest span length of any bridge in #CT. Read more here: bit.ly/3GNKhP4.

Took a tour of Middletown this afternoon with Mayor @bdflorsheim to see all the development projects that are being financed with American Rescue Plan funding. Part of our plan to come back stronger from the pandemic.

People have asked how you can help support Q's family and legacy. We have set up TWO funds: The first at @LibertyBank_CT helps his wife Carrissa with immediate needs. The second, the Q Fund, is a 501(c)3 fund we are establishing at the Middlesex County Community Foundation.
