Does it have feature parity? Not yet. But can my son make slideshows, edit images, remove backgrounds, draw, save, share, and collaborate? Absolutely. And the best part: I’m in control. Don’t like where a button is? I can move it.
Missing a feature? I can build it myself. No waiting on anyone else. I set the timelines. By the end of the year, I want to replace his subscriptions and unreliable software with tools made just for him (and his friends).
All I need now is a @typesafeai Jev account...

ICYMI our Tangle and Tangent demos at @ICMLconf this week, Linux Foundation just published the writeup. Link in🧵
Tangle: our open-source, platform-agnostic ML experimentation tool. Drag-and-drop pipeline builder, a caching layer for fast iteration, every run and log stored permanently. Any containerized CLI can be a pipeline component.
Tangent: an autonomous agent built on Tangle that runs a Karpathy-style autoresearch loop. Gated checkpoints at each stage. Persistent memory across runs.
We used Tangent to rebuild a reranking model. Iterating on its own hypotheses, it pushed recall at 90% precision from 67.3% to 75.6%, no human in the loop between runs.
GPT 5.5, even if it is not technically better than Fable 5, is still a better overall experience. The cost alone is a huge reason why GPT is “winning” right now. Fable 5 is good at going from 0-0.9 but everything after 1 is just costly and takes a long time.

Just shipped Tangle - the first open source experimentation platform with content-based caching and visual editor that's actually pleasant to use. The CPU time savings alone are ridiculous (seeing 1+ year saved at Shopify). We're at NeurIPS, booth #1713, if you want to see it.
I hate the term vibe coding. It's like developers' way of self-deprecating before admitting to using AI to code. Don't worry; we all use AI.
Got my @Shopify keyboard. It's pretty slick! Hopefully it will help me get out of Crusader and @ShopifyRebels will recruit me ;)
The house next to me has 3gb @Bell fiber but I can only get 100mb to my house and that makes me sad.
Its funny how modern developers are more interested in using "their" tools instead of solving problems with the right tools. I think @htmx_org gets rid of a lot of fluff and solves a lot of issues correctly.
What's the best Linux distro to do web development for a developer that doesn't want to customize every last part of their os? Or can I get away using windows these days?
Doing simple things (like deleting a row from a table or something) using @htmx_org is so much nicer then most frameworks I've used recently.
I love writing react apps (and generally love JS/ts) but after writing my first HTMX /ruby app for the first time last night I feel as though I may be suffering from stockholm syndrome. Modern Js feels exhausting to write
"Can I get some feedback on the functionality of this feature I'm working on? Ignore the UI, text, etc, and focus on functionality only."
"Can we change the colour of the button?"
Ughh
Does anyone have leads on good kickboxing (or Muay Thai) or boxing gyms that allow dropin classes in Montreal?
I got a compliment after kickboxing sparring today. Something like "you move quick for someone that looks heavy". Lol I'll take it.
