This is my blog, I write things about football, media, and sometimes say mean things about Damien Barrett

I could be completely wrong, didn’t he say a couple of years ago that aflw was not worth the effort financially.
Of course the team won’t fold but something needs to change. A lot of Collingwood supporters don’t give 2 hoots about it due to them being so bad which is a sad thing

thankfully craig is fucking off pretty soon, so hopefully things will change, at least none of the young players want to leave.

I honestly think I would stop any support I had for Collingwood if they drop their womens program. It just isnt ok in the year 2026 to be doing this stuff

If you want to still defend Kellen Moore at this point, that’s on you.
Always unprepared/ awful in the first quarter of games. No run game. No calling card.
The great coaches in this league are always problem-solving. The Saints just make us ask more questions each week.

On the one hand I hope these players walk and go somewhere they’ll be treated properly, on the other it will just give Collingwood more reason to disregard the team and eventually fold it
Collingwood’s AFLW environment is dysfunctional and there are many disgruntled players.
- They offered a one year deal, then upped it to 2 for captain Ruby Schleicher. If she leaves, it will likely be for a WA team.
- They are yet to formally offer a deal for Bri Davey. It’s likely to be 1 year.
- 4 Clubs are chasing Tarni White, who has been excellent this season.
Then Bonnici, Allen (contracted), Rowe, Butler & Breed have uncertain futures too. Possible mass exodus incoming. Details 👇@7AFL @1116sen

Would be absolutely dire to lose these 2. Especially T.
But given the state of our program, I expect us to lose even more.
Fuck this shit.
Tyanna Smith and Ash Richards have also met with Tasmania. Both contracted at @stkildafcw until the end of 2027, but four year deals on the table from the Devils and Saints.
A two-year contract extension offered by @SydneySwansAFLW to star Chloe Molloy. If agreed, would lock her in until the end of 2029.

Today was a great sendoff for one of CanWNT’s all-time defenders, and truly deserving that she got her 100th cap, but part of me does wish that this was her last appearance for the national team. It just epitomizes Chappy.

Yep, reckon it is more than 50%, way more than 50% retiring early and this is after the amount who don't even make it this far coz they have given up by age 15 😞 theguardian.com/football/202…
I'll let people more emotionally invested in Collingwood take up the slack, but if I had a CEO who was deliberately and misogynistically running down my W program to the point people questioned if you were going to withdraw from the comp...
I mean I'd be fucking pissed

I'm not sure how they get out? I thought that was the thing about the sudden rush to have all teams in those final few years before now was a decree from AFL HQ?
Unless getting support from some of the other clubs who have made no effort as well to let them walk away? 🤔
