Particles are supposed to be the fun part.
Today we're revealing Entropy, a modern particle instrument for After Effects built for fast feedback, directable motion, and work you can keep changing.
Public beta opens the week of August 24.

We're grateful to @flashbackj for bringing Entropy to Japan. They get it: the particle play is the fun part. Perpetual license, After Effects, GPU. Excited to have you helping to get Entropy out to more people.

So, a couple days in of my grokbot Jane having a handoff and connection point to my GPT Dottie and it's honestly working well. Jane knows how to hop into gpt in her browser when she needs to message some info or a task, and they both connect through a Notion page. It's been nice.
And as someone with adhd who has had to be off stimulants for the last year, I appreciate how systems become an easier thing when the machine has a much harder time forgetting. I wouldn't say it's managed my adhd, but it certainly helps me more than it hurts.
We continue to tinker on how to be able to be prepped for morning standup. Every morning Jane's been writing an agenda that writes in natural language the day before, pulls in web analytics and tracks across where we are in a roadmap.
This was more fascinating than I expected
Panko is bread baked with electricity. Traditional panko makers run current through the dough between two metal plates, so the loaf cooks from the inside out and never forms a crust. The loaf is dried, then shredded into slivers instead of ground into crumbs.
That's why panko fries differently from regular bread crumbs. A crust is a dense browned layer, and ground crumbs are small and tight, so they pack onto the food and soak up oil. Panko slivers are airy and oblong, they sit loosely in the coating, and steam vents out between them, so the coating takes on less oil and stays crisp after it cools. Kikkoman's box says the crumbs come from crustless bread, that they're larger and lighter than regular crumbs, and that they retain less oil. The ingredients are wheat flour, cane sugar, yeast and salt.
The electrode method goes back to a Japanese army field oven from the 1930s. Not every bag labeled panko is made that way, and Japanese style on a US label isn't regulated.
Some of what I've been tinkering on this week. It's part of some ongoing work on accurate historical reconstructions. It's so much fun messing around with splats
YouTube comment from the entropy trailer. I had mentioned to them that the app was localized to Russian. It's a big deal to make sure that people can use your tools. Also, I agree with him about Entropy but I'll let someone else say it.

The statue of Prometheus is finally finished.
It was cast in Paris, crossed the Atlantic, and was assembled at Starbase. It took us 100 days to go from nothing to this.
People of the West, we have lived through an era devoid of dreams, devoid of destiny.
But the time has come to reclaim our dream of antiquity.
In a few months, we will start building a new city. It will be the most magnificent city in all of history.
After all, the great dream of the West has always been to rebuild Rome.
Come walk beside us in this endeavor. The world is waiting.
Man, this is something I've wanted in After Effects for a long time. There's a certain joy in being able to check off all of the things you've dreamt about building. Still a work in progress but Ethera is going to be fun.
Boosting yesterday's article. This has been really helpful for us while getting Entropy and Lumen localized. We'll continue to make it better but thought that others might find it useful too. Make plugins accessible. Its much less of a hard lift and it makes a big impact.

Harry Frank has a new tutorial up on the Wild Construct YouTube today. It's a deep dive into falloff and how you can art direct with it. It's fun stuff. youtube.com/watch?v=DwPC13Cx…
