There is no doubt Hassan deserves to die. His crimes were demonic and unforgivable—death by firing squad is borderline too merciful. But broadcasting his execution is beneath the dignity & decency of our nation. Americans will use violence if and when justified, but we do not rejoice in it. Kill him swiftly & silently. Streaming his execution is not just a stain on our morality—it also gives the terrorists free propaganda that they will use to radicalize & recruit more terrorists like Hassan.

“I tell dick jokes for a living and flew here on a private jet and you were born in Uganda and you’re now the Mayor of NYC, so anyway let me ask you — is the American Dream still alive?”

I am once again begging dumbasses who got rich doing podcasts to stop asking foreign born Mayors if the American Dream is still alive.
Theo Von: “Do you think the American Dream is still alive?” Zohran Mamdani: “It feels like you have to luck out in some big way. In many ways I feel like it’s why a lot of people play the lottery. For many it feels like their only chance. People think they have better odds playing the lottery than making it in their own life. What does that say about the country we live in?”

“Homosexuality and transgender identity raise fundamentally different questions under a law designed to prohibit sex discrimination. Homosexuality depends on the reality of sex. A gay male is attracted to males; a gay female is attracted to females. Protecting gay people from discrimination requires no redefinition of male or female. The question becomes more complicated when gender identity is used to decide who belongs in those categories. If identifying as female means a male student must be treated as female for every Title IX purpose, the law’s original sex-based protections become difficult to maintain. This includes sports and sex-separated facilities. Title IX was a landmark achievement for women precisely because sex sometimes matters.” New piece from @benappel ⬇️

In 2019 Nikole Hannah Jones asked me "What are YOU willing to give up for Equality?" We were discussing the efforts to end the entrance exam to NYC's Specialized High Schools and other so-called equity reforms that she characterized as "desegregation." 1/7

“Suicide bombers. They’re here, they’re queer, get used to it!”
This is an excerpt from my memoir. I’m sharing it because I believe it will help people to understand an important aspect of what’s occurring across the Western world.

“People should be free to identify and present themselves as they wish, and deliberately humiliating someone is cruel. But cruelty and disagreement are not synonymous, and the government cannot eliminate the latter simply by relabeling it as harassment.” New piece by @benappel ⬇️

What can a 1980s sitcom teach us about today's battles over free speech? 🎙️ On this episode of The Pod Millennial, @libbyemmons looks back at a surprisingly relevant Family Ties episode before sitting down with author @benappel to discuss the controversy surrounding his book, Cis White Gay: The Making of a Gender Heretic. Appel shares why he believes he was censored for challenging ideological orthodoxy, reflects on the parallels he sees between his upbringing in an authoritarian cult and campus culture, and explores the cost of speaking against prevailing narratives. If you're interested in free speech, censorship, and the culture wars shaping America today, you won't want to miss this conversation. 🎧 Watch the full here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
