Trifectas are critical to parties' legislative priorities on the state level, particularly relating to divisive topics (abortion, gun rights, voting, redistricting).
The number of legislative trifectas in recent years has reached a record high since the 1950s.
Democrats could gain full control in MN, PA, and NV. They're also optimistic about AK, MI, AZ, and WI, where all three branches are up for grab.
Republicans are only likely to gain a trifecta in Kansas.
Existing Republican trifectas at risk include five states with competitive gubernatorial races.
Democrats could also lose full control in two states, though it appears less likely.
In interviews, MANY in NH mixed up John Sununu with other members of his family, particularly popular former Gov. Chris Sununu. John Sununu's yard signs, displayed across the state, also only say "Sununu / Senator" without his first name.
New Hampshire is a famously independent state. But voters say they are much more inclined to vote based on party affiliation this year, and could do so enough to carry Chris Pappas to victory over John Sununu, a strong candidate.
My dispatch from NH:

Equality PAC, the political arm of the Congressional Equality Caucus (which includes 192/215 House Dems) tells me it will “absolutely not” support Marcy Kaptur’s campaign.
Kaptur, a 6-time sponsor of the Equality Act, recent ran an ad criticizing “transgender ideology.”
Democrats in red states have moved right on trans issues this cycle in response to a deluge ($76 million) of Republican ads.
The shift has sparked backlash in the party, risking a rupture with LGBTQ+ allies urging voters to stay home or oppose Democrats.

NEW: Mitch McConnell will return to the Senate today for the first time in months, per a statement from his office.
Among what current and former employees told me about Trump’s threats to Bombardier, a Canadian plane manufacturer with 3,500 American employees:
I also acquired a document laying out the policy priorities of four independent candidates (Todd Achilles, Brian Bengs, Robert Chew, Ty Pinkins) running for Senate. Check it out:
