most acquisitions get announced on day one and shipped a year later; we did it the other way around.
@bendopfner and the Vesto team joined @tryramp five months ago. we waited to "make an announcement" until customers could use what we built together.
for three years they’d been working on a problem every finance team knows too well: log into a handful of bank portals, export everything, stitch it together in a spreadsheet, and hope you can accurately model where your cash actually is. the average Ramp customer has 3+ bank accounts, some have hundreds spread across many institutions and geographies (and languages of various portals).
now they can see it in Ramp, alongside the spend they already manage here, with connections to 12,000+ banks and a cash forecast across every account and entity.
Ben spent three years earning the trust of Vesto’s customers. he thanked them first in his announcement and closed with “job’s not finished." now that they’re Ramp customers too, it’s on all of us to keep earning it.
five months in, it feels like he’s been here for years. welcome to Ramp, Ben.
Excited to share that Vesto has joined @tryramp .
We started Vesto with a simple vision: give finance teams one place to manage all their cash.
Since then, we’ve helped hundreds of teams bring their treasury operations across banks, entities, and countries into one platform.
I’ve long admired what Ramp is building, and as I got to know the team better, it became clear that joining forces would let us bring this vision to life at a much greater scale.
At Ramp, we’re now building one place for finance teams to manage their cash alongside their spend, no matter who they bank with.
We’re starting by bringing bank connectivity, cash flow reporting, and forecasting together, giving teams a complete view of their cash in the finance platform they already use every day.
To the customers who’ve trusted Vesto over the years: thank you. Building for you has been the best part of this journey, and your feedback continues to shape what we’re building next.
I couldn’t be more excited to keep going with the team at Ramp. Job’s not finished.

While Ramp Banking is ripping - and we believe the best experience for businesses is to be able to see and manage cash from a single pane of glass.
That's why we acquired Vesto. Welcome to the team @bendopfner!
Now on Ramp, companies can link all financial accounts, view cash positions in real time, move money between accounts, and plan ahead with comprehensive forecasting.
This is just the start.

Ramp is a single pane of glass to manage your business finances.
Bringing @bendopfner and Vesto on board furthers that vision by empowering finance teams to visualize all of their money in one place even when they are in different countries, currencies, or entities.
This is powerful: treasury teams spend a lot of time monitoring all of their bank accounts. A single point of view makes it much easier to make decisions about your cash.
Congrats to the team! There is a lot more to build here to make the job even easier. Watch this space.

- are unapologetically money motivated
- have created and sold a product
- ideological minority at a top 10 school
- debated risking it all with an SBA loan
- bought a stock before you could drive
- work in PE but long for higher MOIC
- work in VC but long for higher ROIC
- went through YC but yearn to invest
- can get a meeting w/ anyone on earth
- made money online in high school
- value heterodoxy over consensus
- value making money over being right

At Tiny, we manage over hundreds of bank accounts across 40 odd businesses.
That's a lot of cash to keep track of.
Our finance team used to spend hours every week logging into hundreds of accounts just to copy/paste balances into Excel.
Manually.
One misplaced decimal and boom - the entire cash picture is screwed.
We looked into treasury management systems. Most cost $100K+, take forever to set up, and look like they were designed when dial-up was still a thing. Hard pass.
Then we found @getvesto.
Vesto connects all our banks into one slick dashboard. Real-time cash position, automatic transaction categorization, and treasury management.
Implementation?
A few clicks.
Cost?
A fraction of the old-school solutions.
It's so easy, it almost feels like cheating.
For any company juggling multiple accounts - holdcos, real estate firms, PE shops - Vesto is a no-brainer. It's like hiring a financial wizard for pennies on the dollar.
We're saving countless hours and headaches. And best of all, they even help us get yield on our cash, making it easy to move things between cash and treasury bills to ensure we're making yield on our cash balance.
Juggling bank accounts and cash balances? I highly recommend checking out @getvesto and talking to its founder @bendopfner.
PS: We like it so much that we invested in the company.
Highly recommend applying to ZFellows if you’re a young founder!

Excited for 2024🚀
Most startups try to persuade talent to join their company with perks: remote work, unlimited PTO, 4-day workweek, etc.
The way to build a great team is by doing the opposite.
You almost have to persuade them not to join your team: work long hours, have no work-life balance, constantly face failure, etc.
Only the ones who are still excited to join your team will last.
Great brand positioning and communication is still one of the most underrated 'hacks' for building a startup.
Recruiting, sales, fundraising, etc. all get easier when this is well executed.
