Well, it looks like we have a real insurance company coming into South Carolina starting July 1. All the hell I’ve been raising has been to just try and help the whole industry, so I have to share this. South Carolina Bar & Tavern Association South Carolina Brewers Guild please share, it’s here!
It’s a shame so many businesses have closed, it still is a very political/corrupt trial attorney issue!
This was a referral from a local business, thank you @stogiescigarclub. We’re helping each other out more than any freaking politician!
My job is now finished…. Go get it!
Now, I am a little too invested in the swimming pool business at this moment to jump right back into brewing beer. Once I get this business running, there may be a potential to even hire a brewer and staff. Give me a few months, great things may happen!
This man might just insure the entire state of South Carolina:

Hey folks, we are starting a new chapter. If you follow the brewery, please give our swimming pool construction company a follow!
We will get the brewery back up and running when it is fun and affordable again!
Thank you!
When you take the risks to operate your own business, you must be a leader. You make the hard decisions, you are #theproblemsolver. When problems arise, you correct them and carry on! (main reason why I’m doing this). You must show your employees/contractors/customers respect. When you do, they rally behind you and everyone is successful. If you vote for Russell Brazell for SC House, that’s what you are getting!
When you are in school, you do what your teachers and professors tell you to do. All you try to do is achieve a good grade. When you achieve a good grade, they give you a piece of paper that says you are capable of doing good things, such as a degree in business school. Brandon Newton listens to his legislative leaders, just like he’s still in school. Everything is just the theory, no consequences if it doesn’t work out in the real world. But when you’re placed in a real world positions to lead, bad decisions result in business closures! When you get caught, the school kid lies start coming out by using words such as ”I think”, “I can’t remember”, “we’re guessing”. Just as bad as the dog ate my homework!
How can you start a conversation “thinking” that the SCAJ is a trial attorney PAC. Then admit you take money from them, but “can’t remember” how you voted. A few minutes later, “I remember them very well” on how much money they spent against your campaign! He admitted that counselor’s advised him to repeal the law! With the end result, “we’re guessing” on the livelihood of many small businesses! This is Brandon Newton’s record with his puppeteer Master “professors” such as Bruce Bannister. Listen to the clips in the comments below. These words came directly from Brandon Newton on March 19, 2026 at LA Tap Room….. I bet his professors are proud!
Do your part and vote these people out of #SouthCarolina politics! This is only one example that goes on behind back doors. They will tell you everything you want to hear on emotional issues to vote for them, to keep fighting for you!
This is my last liquor liability post, it is your turn to vote on how you feel…. I’m tired and I need to focus on an upcoming sawmill job, finish a bar top, and my return back into the swimming pool in industry. Please follow me on my alternate pages:

The fate of the brewery will be June 9, go vote! @SCFreedomCaucus
Well, the wolf ate Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother, so @realDonaldTrump you are correct. But here’s a politician who is very close friends with the SCAJ telling us very clearly how corrupt South Carolina is! So you wonder why I’m complaining about our liquor liability insurance issues? @SCFreedomCaucus #repealthelaw #scbeer
@FBIDirectorKash @FBI please hold these people accountable for ruining our livelihood. Look into the Beer Wholesalers Association and see how much influence they have on our businesses!
I was speaking with a friend yesterday and this came up in conversation, so I had to confirm for myself. We can’t get real help repealing this liquor liability BS that is crippling our industry, but my district house representative voted and supports wasteful spending like this! I really don’t care if you want to make gummy bear art or not. This is a “free” country! But, our tax dollars should not be funding this mess! Raise your own money and create whatever you want! Maybe I can get funded to build a gummy crushed beer can “art” to stick in front of the State Capital building? @SCFreedomCaucus
This brewery liquor liability mess is not going to get resolved anytime soon, so I’m putting all the cards on the table. With a slight itch, encouragement from friends, and 14 years of saying, NEVER AGAIN…..
Let’s take it slow! I entered the swimming pool world in 1992. I started Falling Water Custom Pools, Inc in 2001-2014 and left the industry to focus on the brewery. I have designed and built over 500 custom pools. I’m willing to partner, oversee projects, design, consult and even service/repair. If necessary, I will study and get my General Contractors license again.
I have to stay busy…. sawmill timbers, epoxy tables, and Yes….. Swimming Pools
Just give me a call.
704-506-7806
Same number for the past 30 years or so! Let’s do this!
I’m going way out of my comfort zone on this one…..
We need your help! Even though the tap room is closed (because basically it’s not worth brewing beer), I still sell Legacy Springs Farm Dairy, LLC raw milk, eggs, honey, and beef. I have (5) #harvesthosts campers coming tonight. I sent them a message last night that we do not have beer, so BYOB! What a ridiculous thing to do as a small business brewery owner! We’re still going to sit by the campfire tonight and go through the motions “having fun”.
This is why I have agreed to help Russell Brazell Councilmember District 1 Kershaw County do some “door knocking” in our community tomorrow May 9th starting around 2 PM. I honestly do not want to do this, but I will because the corrupt politicians in our state truly do not care about us! Currently, they care about their pay raises, redistricting, and not allowing independent audits if an integrity issue arises from an opposing candidate! I don’t think H.5503 to repeal the liquor Liability requirements is even on their radar for the short amount of time they have left!
Bigger Fish to fry….. us!
I really could spend my time working on a very nice live edge bar that needs to be completed soon. I just received an order for very nice signage to be built for a new nature walk, but if I I ever want to brew another batch of beer, this must be done!
So if you’re willing to help by spending a couple hours doing something out of our comfort zones, please join me and Russell. I’m encouraging you to pick up a six pack of beer and we will have an old-fashioned bottle share later on in the evening! Maybe even poolside at my residence! You’ll be fed very well, but we need you to send me a message that you’re willing to help! I appreciate everyone’s support over the past 14 years operating this brewery!
We can do this!
Join us today from 4 to 6 PM at LA Tap Room to have an open discussion with Russell Brazell Councilmember District 1 Kershaw County running for House Seat district 45!

Ironically, I started thinking about the similarities of damages done to both the current liquor liability laws and the 1999 tyrannical shut down of small businesses in the video poker machine industry in South Carolina. If you did not live here, here’s a brief history lesson:
2000 (effective July 1, 2000).
South Carolina’s legislature passed a law in 1999 (Act 125) that included a provision to ban video gambling machines (commonly called video poker) unless voters approved them in a statewide referendum. The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled the referendum unconstitutional in October 1999 but upheld the ban, which took effect at midnight on June 30/July 1, 2000.
This made it illegal to operate, possess, or keep privately owned video gambling machines in the state. After the deadline, the machines were treated as contraband, and law enforcement began seizing them.
This was one of the largest rollbacks of legalized gambling in U.S. history, shutting down tens of thousands of machines that had proliferated in the 1990s.
The core prohibition is in S.C. Code § 12-21-2710, which bans certain gambling devices (including video poker-style machines). South Carolina remains one of the stricter states on private ownership of such devices.
Then just a short six months later:
State lottery: Voters approved a constitutional amendment in November 2000 (Amendment 1) to allow a state-run lottery for education funding. The South Carolina Education Lottery launched in January 2002.
This is why we must fight and stay loud so this doesn’t happen to the restaurant, bar, and brewery industry in South Carolina!
This is absolutely ridiculous! A one year suspension is not the answer! We know we will be in the same spot next year, if the H.5503 is not passed. Repeal the law now! @SCGOP @scdp you are responsible for another small business closure!
@SCFreedomCaucus please stay loud for us!
Early morning yard work for hosting tomorrow’s non-beer marketplace listening to one of the best #podcasts around. Dave from @X22Report couldn’t have said it any better…..
Do you miss our beer?
Do you miss hanging out with our community?
Do you miss watching the cows and drinking donkeys?
Do you miss @Dwarfanators
Do you miss live music and major events such as @EddieMontgome17 @JoshWeathers and @cornbreadcowboi and all the local bands? We had plans to continue!
I really hope @FBIDirectorKash and team nails these corrupt politicians!
#southcarolina We can make the change this year! I can do my part by supporting Russell Brazzell. You can help all small businesses for doing the same for your district. So be smart, do your research because there are some good ones out there helping us out!
I hope your listing @SCGOP and @scdp because you need to repeal liquor liability with H.5503. We don’t care about your pay raise! Thanks for your help @SCFreedomCaucus
We the People of #SouthCarolina need to research our politicians and see if they align with your values. The best way to do it…. Just ask your phone!
In regard to the liquor liability issue, we have known that the trial attorney lobbyist have had great influence on our politicians. I encourage everybody in our industry to research your representatives. It is very easy to do, and you can find a lot of information very quickly!
I believe this upcoming primary is going to make or break our ability to recover and operate our small businesses! I think this is more important than the governor race. We must have every district working for the people, you only have control of yours! Please share!
@SCBrewers
@SCFreedomCaucus
Take a look at this! @saltcowboys would you mind commenting on your liquor liability insurance cost increases over the past couple of years? Did you have time to discuss this with @PamelaEvette during this meet and greet? I meet with her privately as she was leaving a campaign announcement in Lancaster, SC on 9/11/25 to discuss this matter. I sent a long email to Wylie, per her request. To this day, no response!
I’m glad no one was dancing. The insurance company would have had a stroke!
