“I remember you complaining about how long your name was when I first taught you how to write them. You would tell me why not just write 'Blanket’ rather than 'your complete name. You tried to charm me by pleading with your smile and cute eyes, and I almost gave in. God knows how hard I tried to be firm and still imposed to make you learn to write your complete name. You complained but still obeyed, and I can't forget how happy you were when you finally learned to write them all. You excitedly showed them to your dad. You were such a sweetheart.”

here’s how Dr Valin described it in his book, when Michael fell asleep in his presence: “We would put in a movie, order from the kitchen whatever we were hungry for and watch movies until late at night. If Michael fell asleep while we were watching a movie, I would turn the volume down slowly, unplug it (because if I used the controller it made a loud noise as it turned off) and quietly leave the room and go home. I remember I did this one night and was tiptoeing to the door when I heard Michael say, "See you tomorrow, Barney." For whatever reason, it was very difficult for Michael to sleep. So, if he fell asleep I was always careful to let him stay that way. Sometimes he'd ask me to read something to him and I'd find a book and just read it out loud then slip away when it seemed he was asleep.”

to me, Invincible as an album is also so special because Michael had become a father by then, and he would always have his children with him in the studio: “Buxer remembers Jackson often changing diapers and feeding the kids in between recording sessions. As they got older they would hang around the studio, doing homework or working on art projects. "He was the best dad on the planet.”

When Michael bought an entire shop’s collection, everyone thought he was crazy to purchase so much, until they found out what he had bought all those tons of clothing for: “This time he went to one of those trendy clothing shops. Michael looked around and then said to the staff that he wanted to buy "the whole rack of this" and "the whole rack of that". I was standing by and wondering all the time what in the world he wanted to do with all those clothes in all those different sizes and colours. In the end he had bought almost the whole shop and spent more than $400.000. To me it just did not make sense at all, until I heard him talk to his assistant. He told her to let the clothes be wrapped up into little presents and gave her an address of an orphanage somewhere at the east coast of the US. Such events happened regularly. Another time he went to a music store where he bought many instruments which were then sent to an address of a school somewhere.”
