El-Sayed: What is his name? JV Dance. They keep sending JV here. JV has zero charisma. They taught him that at Ohio state. When your school mascot is like a nut, what do you expect?

Sen. @tedcruz in March: "I don't believe that what is happening in Iran will be front and center in November. If it extends that long, we've done something wildly wrong... The president said at the beginning this is going to be a matter of several weeks."

I believe the cost of elder and end of life care will be a defining political issue of the 2030s. Candidates looking to run in 2028 would be wise to have a plan for this before it bankrupts millions of families more than it already has. I will never forget having to do the math of how much longer my family could afford keep my father cared for as Parkinson’s took him. I know far too many people who have had to make that same calculation.
I genuinely don’t understand how ordinary people are supposed to afford assisted living for their aging parents. Some facilities charge upwards of $10,000 A MONTH. That’s $120,000 a year just to make sure your parents are properly cared for. How is the average family supposed to afford that?

I called to cancel my health insurance because I couldn't afford the premium anymore. The rep asked why I wanted to cancel. I told her I'm paying $685 a month for a family plan with a $9,000 deductible. That's $8,220 a year before I've even paid for a single doctor's visit, prescription, or emergency room bill. So if someone in my family gets seriously sick, I'm still looking at thousands of dollars in medical expenses on top of the premiums I've already been paying all year. I asked her what exactly I'm supposed to do with a plan like that. She explained that the policy was designed to help cover eligible medical expenses after I met my deductible. I told her I understood how insurance works. What I don't understand is how a family can pay more than $8,000 a year for coverage and still be terrified of getting sick. She didn't have an answer. WE'VE CREATED A HEALTHCARE SYSTEM WHERE PEOPLE ARE PAYING THOUSANDS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM MEDICAL BILLS THEY STILL CAN'T AFFORD.
