While the early voting data is encouraging for turnout, prediction markets and polls lean D here in Texas for the senate race, I still believe Talarico would be an upset win here in Texas… I’m hopeful but also realistic. If he does pull it off, the MAGA crash out is going to be epic… Texas has required strict voter ID since 2012 and the voter rolls are compared with the federal SAVE database. Given that Texas already has the SAVE act implemented, a Talarico win would very clearly show one thing here in Texas. MAGA is done. They’ll claim fraud, in a state where Paxton is the AG and republicans have been in office for 30 years, but it will all be in vain of the truth. Texas is tired of Trump. One can hope. Go vote!

I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.
I’ll take @ellalangleymsic over Kacey Musgraves any day. And if I’m choosin’ Texas, I’ll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico.

You know our timeline is infinity levels of fucked when Mike Pence sounds reasonable and honest.
President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. In watching MSU play I feel like Alessio Milivojevic has to pronounce his name every time he snaps the ball, and it’s not till he’s finished pronouncing his name that he throws it, and that is way too long…

Oh just like the DOGE checks? tariff refunds? If you believe this lie you're too stupid to vote
If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This repeats a promise Trump made in September 2026. The US has approximately 250 million adult citizens so the total cost would be over 1.25 trillion dollars. Congress must approve any such federal spending. nytimes.com/2026/09/10/us/… pbs.org/newshour/polit…

Conservatives “why aren’t people having more kids?!? Our birth rate is declining” Also conservatives the moment they’re asked to pay taxes so those kids can be educated and fed:

Fun fact: Had Trump not arbitrarily ended Obama’s JCPOA, the Strait would be open, Iran would not be pursuing a nuclear weapon, and fuel prices would be much cheaper.

If MSU can keep this close, when the rain comes we’ve got a chance… Our secondary is not great but a rain storm is the perfect 12th man on the field. #MSUvsND

While I’m glad Senator Cornyn denounced this for what it is, horrible racism, it cannot be overstated how much the GOP has fallen. Bo French is running for the Railroad Commissioner which is a state wide office in Texas that regulates the oil and natural gas industries. What is now clear is that “white replacement” or “invasion” is now a mainstream republican view. Bo French isn’t some fringe candidate in a primary election he is *the* GOP’s choice on the ballot this November. A mainstream candidate of a mainstream party is out loud talking about being “replaced” You know what? I hope he’s replaced. I hope every person that looks someone who’s non-white as a “problem” is replaced. We shouldn’t tolerate that kind of language especially as a mainstream talking point. This isn’t a dogwhistle anymore it’s open. It needs to be rejected.
This is the Republican nominee for statewide office. Are other Republican elected officials going to condemn the intolerance and racism, or look the other way while it becomes normalized. This is how great political parties self-destruct. Sad.

The only thing MAGA hates more than unassimilated immigrants is assimilated immigrants.
I heard UT graduation this year looked like this. I didn’t believe it. The problem is now obviously far worse than anyone imagined.
