We're 17 people. 4 are the best people I worked with before. Didn't have to think twice. 7 came through what Travis calls inspired networking. Referrals from people the team already trusted, hunting talent on our behalf. The rest came from the inspired memo. Me laying out the vision and the mission, and why it would be crazy not to join @sapiom. Both work. But only if the mission is actually worth uprooting a life for.

1-5 are spot on. Expect more than a 5-10% false positive rate, especially for early hires (closer to 20-25%). Do 30, 60, 90's for everyone. It's not just an effective mechanism for managing people out but it's valuable for identifying who to manage up.
