Interesting. Revolut reportedly only started seeing meaningful AI productivity gains after moving away from expensive OpenAI and Anthropic models to self-hosted GLM. Decagon reportedly runs ~90% of its workloads on open weight models. Why? Because when you're running AI agents in production for e.g. customer service, cost and latency matter enormously. You don't need a frontier model with PhD-level reasoning or even a model that knows the capital of Finland to handle every customer interaction. We're seeing similar dynamics across hypergrowth AI startups and increasingly the large enterprises we work with. But most importantly, the future isn't binary. When use cases are new, you want the smartest general-purpose model available. But once workflows mature and become predictable, smaller, faster, specialized models increasingly win. I wouldn't be surprised if 80–90% of routine enterprise AI workflows eventually run on open-weight and smaller models. This doesn't mean frontier labs lose. It means the market is splitting into two massive opportunities: frontier intelligence and specialized execution at scale.

I’m in love with this sentence: “The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth they can accept about themselves without running away.”

You name an online incorporation service and their model is filings, ein, and bank. This is not a true & complete picture for foreign founders because of ‘local laws’. This is applicable for all countries- what changes is how they deal with it. How I tell this to India-based founders on discovery calls is- ‘if you are sitting in India, all decision making is in India, sales/development is in India’ then you have an assumed office in India. You not legalizing it, doesn’t make it disappear. Closing your eyes doesn’t change the reality. Since effective management is in India, you need a registered office in India. Period. Entity map- which includes holding & subsidiary relationship depends on other factors. 60% people believe that this incorrect or a scam scheme to make more money. They go to someone who tells that what they listen. 40% people listen, research & agree. Instadapp case tells those 60% founders that it’s not a scam. It makes founders think about POEM, assumed office, entity structure and FEMA rules. Those 40% probably read it, smile and move forward.
ED Bengaluru has conducted searches under FEMA on 27.10.2026 at 3 locations in Bengaluru & Madhya Pradesh over unauthorized cross border financial transactions using cryptocurrency involving more than ₹5,000 Crore (Approx.). The probe exposed use of shell entities in tax haven countries, massive OTC deals and illegal foreign payouts via platforms like Binance and Bybit in violation of FEMA provisions.

Last night an AI agent performed brain surgery on a mouse. We gave it 19 gene therapy vectors in a spreadsheet, a mouse model of epilepsy, access to a motorize surgery rig with cameras and one goal: reduce seizures. It picked the drug. It picked the brain region. It derived the coordinates from three papers. Then it drove the stereotaxic arms into the brain and injected 250 nanolitres while watching the entry site through the rig camera for bleeding. A licensed vet gated every irreversible step and held a physical kill switch to stop the AI agent. Thread on what it decided, what it saw, and the moment it refused to let me override it. [Writing this on the spot out of excitement, but I've been 18hrs in front of my laptop coding and coordinating this, so keeping it brief and descriptive, more cohesive thoughts on this soon...]

Everyone's talking about ED raids and crypto crackdowns in India. Here's the price tag: USDT trades at a ~9.5% P2P premium in India, 2nd only to Venezuela. Squeeze the on-ramps and demand doesn't vanish. It just gets more expensive. Data: @ethlabs_org , live at Columbia Engineering, NYC 🗽

WE MADE IT TO TRENDING NEWS ON X 👀 @tryAlanAI is right there alongside major tech stories we didn't even expect this kind of response. the builders showed up, the community showed up we're just getting started!
Today we're launching @tryAlanAI so developers can stop babysitting their coding agents. We kept running into the same problem ourselves. Even as agents got better at writing code, we were becoming glorified button-pushers for our own AI: starting every run, feeding them context, unblocking failures, and checking their work. We built Alan to change that.

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.
