The COVID Racial Tracker by @AntiracismCtr & @TheAtlantic paints a grim picture for Black America. In Alabama, (@mp_cwly's home state) Black folks are 26.8% of the population, but 45.37% of the deaths. In Georgia, 34.4% of the population, but 53.89% of the deaths. #RacismIsAVirus
Available racial data for COVID-19 infections & deaths confirm that Black folks are disproportionately affected. In China, Africans face heightened levels of discrimination. Meanwhile, in the United States many are prioritizing the economy over Black lives...Surprised? Not us.
