I don’t disagree with Drink on this at all, and the “our way of life” vs. “your way of life” is the essence of what makes College Football a different kind of rivalry. You’re repping your home, and it’s people. There’s a way of doing it without dredging up the extreme violence of that time in our history. However, in all the rivalries I’ve been part of as a broadcaster this one is by far the deeply seeded hatred for another school I’ve ever witnessed. Cherishing the History and tradition of the game is great, but let’s remember some parts of our history no matter the state, or community is better being remembered at distance not relived to a point where it’s revived somehow on college campuses. I think 🤔 @CoachLeipold & @CoachDrinkwitz can serve to cool this down enough for this series to renew itself again before 2030/31. It had been 21 years since they had played in Lawrence. That imo is progress! Let’s keep that going fellas. 🎧🎙️🏈
