Van Gogh was looking very closely. ✨
He painted ‘Café Terrace at Night’ on location in Arles after dark. In a letter to his sister Willemien, he wrote that he greatly enjoyed painting at night, right there on the spot.
Astronomical research revealed just how closely Van Gogh observed the night sky: the constellation matches its appearance on 16 or 17 September 1888.

The clearing sky Friday night means it'll be a frosty Saturday morning. But it will be a dry Halloween for the Portland area. Trick-or-treating temperatures will be in the 40s. November begins with a mainly clear sky, which will last through the middle of next week. #kgwweather
