Robert Hall deservedly wins the Nobel prize in economics for 2026. Unnamed in the accolade is his long-time case for a FLAT TAX— a uniform % rate for all, whether rich, middle or poor—which is not only good economically and fair morally but unlike today’s grotesque “progressive” schemes consistent with the 14th Amendment’s requirement of equal protection under law.

Thank you Germany 🇩🇪 and UK 🇬🇧 for heroically sacrificing your economy to save the planet 💪

Consensus is embedded in AI training. It often differs from truth, and as Dr. Atlas points out, reliance on consensus over truth has at times generated disastrous outcomes.
"We grapple with fear that AI would think for itself (but) the ironic danger: AI faithfully and authoritatively reinforces the perceived consensus...shaped by flaws of human logic, incl. appeals to authority and repetition"

Data centers are now the biggest source of new blue-collar jobs.
Critics call it “crowding out” other construction.
I call it the reindustrialization of America!

Michael Dell is an American hero, and so is his wife Susan. I don’t know their personal politics and I don’t really care if they vote like I do or not. That’s kind of the beauty of their gift too. They didn’t gift their billions to Republican’s kids or Democrat’s kids, they gave it to 25 million AMERICAN kids. In doing so they not only gave up billions they could have used in jets, yachts and investments for their own family; they set an example for every business titan in America. This is the most direct philanthropy they can do to seed the future of capitalism and our country. I’d also add that the work of @altcap @POTUS and @jgebbia were heroic on this front too. All American heroes! 🇺🇸

The AI discourse would be so much better if intellectuals stopped pretending that Ayn Rand never existed and that anti-human collectivists like Peter Singer have anything valuable to say about life.

"institutions and their defenders do not correct their own failures. Correction comes only from individuals willing to insist publicly, at cost to themselves — these are people who never mistook consensus for truth. Those who got this catastrophically wrong will die certain they were right. The record can still be set straight, because truth does not require their permission." townhall.com/columnists/scot…
Must read.
Koonin & Atlas: "Once 'the science ' was declared, dissent was treated as misconduct. In all 3 cases, the consensus was wrong, and the public suffered severe consequences, while the architects of failure avoided accountability" wsj.com/opinion/covid-climat…

JPMorgan just published the scariest oil chart I’ve ever seen.
World inventories are in freefall.
And when this line hits 6.8 — the global energy system doesn’t slow down.
It breaks. 🧵

By now this is so well known (or should be) that there’s probably only one reason to still be anti-capitalism: you’re anti-human well-being, inhuman, inhumane, an evil, barely living contradiction in terms: a misanthrope. To hate your own species is grotesque.

Chamath condemns media whitewashing of the Fly Dubai hijacking attempt
PALIHAPITIYA: "A Omani national stabbed an Indian pilot and then tried to down a plane full of Israelis. That is what happened. And any attempt to try to cover up any of those facts is cowardly.
I've worked in Israel. I've had some incredible memories there. I think at some point we all just need to take a step back and realize what happened October 7th was horrible. What's happened in Palestine also horrible. But you cannot now see these kinds of things and look past them because you care more about a narrative than what the facts are. Those were 150, 170 earnest, normal people living lives."
"Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, kids. They didn't deserve to get plunged into the ground and die. So I think this idea that you can now whitewash what happens, enough is enough. And I think we need to find a way to actually tell the truth for what things are. So I was really disappointed in how the media handled it."
"And I think it's dangerous. And I think it's yet another demonstration that these people have absolutely no moral authority left in society. They're just pathetic, putrid,"
"And they're, and by the way, they're coordinated. When you see the words, the same words over and over. Altercation, altercation, altercation. It's very powerful. It means that it starts from one place."
"And I think that, you know, if you believe that you are reading this stuff and you're getting the facts, you're just not. And so,"
FRIEDBERG: "Well, it implies that one guy did something wrong to the other guy and they got in a fight. That's not what happened. That's what it implies."

A chronological, fact-only reconstruction of how the FlyDubai FZ1073 cockpit attack unfolded and was thwarted mid-flight.
On FlyDubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, an Omani co-pilot stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar and forced the Boeing 737 into a rapid dive. Despite severe stab wounds, the captain unlocked the cockpit door, allowing passengers and relief crew to intervene mid-flight.
The verified record of the incident:
• Flight FZ1073 was carrying 174 passengers, mostly Israeli citizens, from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
• After the captain unlocked the door, passengers and crew stormed the cockpit and physically restrained the co-pilot.
• The crew pulled the Boeing 737 out of its dive and stabilized the aircraft.
• The pilots transmitted emergency transponder codes and diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
• Captain Machchhar was hospitalized upon landing, and all 174 passengers survived.
• Authorities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel have opened a joint investigation.

Barclays is one of the few shops actually publishing analysis these days. Not the propaganda bullshit from US sell side shops.
True.
Capitalism is self-regulating, entails both risk taking & risk management, the essence of a flourishing life, and both are profitable, so Hell NO to any supposed “AI czar.” Existing legal liability tort law is sufficient. If you’re harmed, sue. The regulatory approach is unjust, violates rights, imposes what courts call “prior restraint,” & presumes one is guilty before doing anything.
Leadership.
On the first day of @POTUS' new administration, he asked how we can build the LNG pipeline in Alaska.
Today, we have the answer.
The Alaska LNG Project will be the largest infrastructure project built in the last 50 years.
This is an incredible day for America.
They’d rather use it as both a campaign issue and a lever for more power and control over the private sector. The more they distort and regulate the private sector, the less secure and prosperous America will be.
Democrats are trying to dismiss the White House Accord on Super Intelligence as optional self-policing. But although the agreement was entered into voluntarily, the governance that follows from it is not. As Gavin Baker points out, once an independent auditor reports a safety issue to an independent board committee, directors have a fiduciary duty not to disregard it, and a D&O carrier can use a bad-faith finding to deny coverage. So although the agreement starts with internal controls, these are verified by external audit and board oversight — and then existing FTC and securities law still apply to any public claim the company does not keep. This is far more practical than what Democrats want — a freeze on frontier development while China races ahead. Democrats should applaud what President Trump has accomplished. But they would rather use SI safety as a campaign issue than admit the Accord represents major progress.

The party that opposes domestic oil supply and new refineries, and forces much higher gas prices in states like CA, hopes to win the midterms based on gas prices.
.@ScottJenningsKY just asked the CNN NewsNight table a simple question:
Does anybody support building a single oil refinery so America can increase diesel supply?
Abby Phillip: “It’s a silly argument.”
Jennings, from the top rope: “Democrats have argued against domestic energy forever. And now you want me to trust them on gas prices?”
