Today's Rare Pepe Lore Lesson™️ is Series 8, Card 37 - MASTROPEPE by papayuca. This is a 1/3,000 card with a current floor price of 0.04 BTC ($3,095 USD).
Only 18 wallets hold a copy of this card and the artist's wallet controls 99.3% of the total supply (2,979/3,000). The last time that wallet performed a transaction was 6 years ago.
This is a pepefied image of German composer and musician Johann Sebastian Bach (31 Mar 1685 - 28 Jul 1750) however there is a twist which is revealed in the card name and text.
An Argentine musical-comedy group called Les Luthiers created the fictional composer Johann Sebastian Mastropiero as part of a 1979 performance titled Mastropiero que nunca.
The text on the card was taken from “El beso de Ariadna” (The Kiss of Ariadne). It was spoken by Marcos Mundstock, a founding member of Les Luthiers and creator of the Mastropiero character.

The alpaca is one of Bitcoin’s earliest unofficial mascots, and it all comes down to socks. Grass Hill Alpacas, a farm in Haydenville, Massachusetts , was among the first merchants to accept BTC. A February 10, 2011 Slashdot post on what bitcoins could buy linked to the farm , which likely started the association.
From there it snowballed:
March 2011: The “What is Bitcoin?” video named alpaca socks as something you could buy , and it even inspired a song, “Alpaca Socks” .
April 2011: A Bitcoin Forum thread offered a bounty for a mascot drawing, with an alpaca photo as the model .
The “crypto-terrorist” joke: After Liberty Dollar creator Bernard von NotHaus was labeled a “domestic terrorist” for issuing his own currency, Bitcoiners started calling themselves “alpaca-sock-wearing crypto-terrorists”.
Early devs joined in: Gavin Andresen tweeted about buying more alpaca socks during a 2012 “Bitcoin Friday” sale .
It also paid off for the farm, with the owners reporting sales up 75 to 100 percent after they started taking BTC . The alpaca never became as famous as the honey badger, but it’s still a nice bit of OG lore, from a time when Bitcoin’s real-world use cases included warm feet. 🧦
Great history and culture now it’s time for the art on Bitcoin. 🔥🦙🛡️

Big week on the Shielded network 🟧
I shipped a lot this week. All of this is live in the Shielded Vault right now
✂️ SPLIT
Break any SHNAKAS pouch into up to 16 smaller pouches in one transaction. Send exactly the amount you want to any vault.
🔥 BURN → SNICKETS
Burn SHNAKAS, get Snickets 1:1. The SHNAKAS are gone for good. Supply only goes down. Your Snickets land on their own two blocks later, no need to keep the page open.
🎟 GTD SPOTS
Spend Snickets on guaranteed spots for Shielded launches. You get a one-time code and mint from any wallet.
🗳 SNICKETS VOTE
The Naka Council now takes Snickets. One vote costs what a base Naka earns in a week, about 35 Snickets right now, and it moves with the floor. Vote for a collection or against it, with Snickets or with your Nakas. Every total shows exactly where it came from: Nakas, Snickets, against.
Don't own a Naka? You can still vote. When the market opens Friday, pick up some SHNAKAS, burn them for Snickets, and vote with those.
Round 2 of the bracket is open now. Jimmy is already in the final. This round decides who joins him.
📅 FRIDAY, NOV 6
The SHNAKAS market opens. List, buy, and sweep up to 10 pouches at once.
Burn a little. Go vote.

Today's Rare Pepe Lore Lesson™️ is Series 31, Card 2 - OUIJAPEPE by @halluciphile. This is a 1/132 card with a current floor price of 0.0666 BTC ($5,380 USD).
46 wallets hold a copy of this card and the largest one controls 36.36% of the total supply (48/132). The last transaction performed by that wallet was 3 years ago.
I confirmed the artist that this card is another example of AI-assisted art (the bottom half). He used a similar technique on two of his other Rare Pepe cards - PEPEKIDROBOT and NAHUAL.
The AI-assisted art portion of the card is that of a rotated and flipped Ouija board. Skulls have replaced the typical sun and moon in the corners. On top of the board you can see some ghostly-green hands on the planchette which have drifted into the scene from the top of the card.
Above that are two hand-drawn Pepe's and something that looks like The Creature from the Black Lagoon kneeling at a table playing with another Ouija board.
Behind them is the outline of a dark room with a ghost asking, "Be my friend?" as well as a couple pentagrams.
Very spooky stuff for this, the most spooky of days.

I've built a site to host the daily lore lessons and it's coming along nicely. I start with the original tweet. When I learn new lore, I add it. This way we all know as much as we can possibly know about our beloved Pepes.
Take Lesson 40 for example. It's a @Zederwan grail. You'll see I've added two additional images provided by Zed as well as an addendum with his recollections.
