For 42 years, from 1963 to 2004, the legendary Miss Budweiser racing team dominated unlimited hydroplane racing. Owned by Bernie Little and backed by Anheuser-Busch, the team became one of the most successful and recognizable names in powerboat racing history. youtu.be/tLP2RaEKdlw

A guy stole a boat and drove it out to the mouth of the Columbia river where it died. Big storm today with 20ft seas It’s even crazier than the comments make it sound. A guy stole a boat and drove it out to the mouth of the Columbia River during a big storm with 20ft seas, where the boat died. The Coast Guard rescued him amidst 20-foot waves on the dangerous Columbia Bar, which typically requires commercial ships to have bar pilots and fishing vessels to be assisted by spotters. The rescue swimmer was on his first mission and succeeded. It turned out the rescued boat was stolen by a Canadian fugitive with five outstanding warrants, who had also vandalized a local landmark by leaving rotten fish on the porch of the Goonies House. Despite the Coast Guard closing the bar to vessels of that size, the fugitive took the boat out and, miraculously, didn’t capsize until the rescue swimmer reached him. He survived a massive wave and was rescued just in time, ending up in jail instead of dead.
