I heard my own laugh today and realized that I’m developing a crones cackle. I see that my mid-thirties are welcoming me with open, haggard arms.

Nicki Minaj also spoke at great length about her cousin's testicles, but kudos to the company you keep, my guy
Nicki Minaj just called out Kathy Hochul and urged New Yorkers to back me for Governor. The message is clear: New Yorkers are ready for CHANGE. I'm ready to deliver it!

Omg please let me do it 🙏
Imagining the panic the folks running @NYGovPress are in trying to workshop a response to this.

Feels like there is a severe lack of political education around electoralism right now. If electoralism is your strategy, and I understand the argument for using elections tactically , shouldn’t the point be to bring people into a larger movement? To expose and heighten contradictions, organize people, and move them toward a broader anti-imperialist politics? Instead, it feels like the opposite is happening. People with revolutionary anti-imperialist politics are being told to temper those politics in order to defend politicians. Even if your entire strategy is electoral, why wouldn’t you want a strong left flank pushing your politicians and their constituents further left? Why wouldn’t you want people outside electoral politics taking the uncompromising position, especially on Palestine, so that there is constant pressure on the people operating within those institutions? The movement shouldn’t be adjusting its politics to whatever its most progressive elected officials are willing to say or do. They should be getting pushed toward us. Not the other way around. This doesn’t happen in private meetings, this happens publicly. Electoralism can be a tactic within a larger movement. But once the movement starts disciplining its own left flank to protect an electoral project, who is actually absorbing who? Maybe this site is just giving me a distorted picture but it feels like some very basic anti-imperialist positions are treated as unreasonable because they create problems for politicians people are invested in. If this is reflective of a broader shift in the movement, then I think we desperately need political education around electoralism. Electoral politics should be one terrain on which a movement struggles. It should not become the ceiling of the movement’s politics. The direction should be electoral politics moves people towards movement politics, not movement politics requiring electoral loyalty.

A lot of people chiming in are not equipped to have this conversation.
Marc Lamont Hill's wife, Dr. Melissa, got emotional while talking about aging as a Black woman. She said she hates the way she's aged, and that after having her son, it felt like she aged overnight. To her, it felt like she gave up her beauty to become a mother.

Personally, my preference was shaped by being an outlier of what's considered attractive for an asian woman so I wasn't appealing to anyone across the board anyway. Ultimately I found myself drawn to big-nosed browns like me bc it's familiar.

You’ll see some of the most fascist sounding commentary on this app and it’ll be from someone who is between the ages of 18 and 24 with an anime profile picture. Millennials weren’t like this. It’s getting worse.

People that “quit ‘X’ because it’s too toxic and they don’t want to read it” then want you to explain every insane viral phenomenon that happens on here. No babe i stayed on here and paid the price for it in brain damage. You need to pay a fee.

I'm not even kidding I want this story to get a Pulitzer.
Per a note to Boston Globe staff today, the lesbian bar story generated 1,000 subscriptions to the paper yesterday. The Globe’s managing editor said it was “by far our best performing story of the year,” and appears to be “on pace to shatter all sorts of Globe records.”
