design.hebbia.com/brand !!! walk with me... most modern institutional brands are 90% random stock images of skyscrapers. they either don’t have an owner of taste, or are afraid their audiences will be turned off by anything too opinionated. we’ve spent the last year challenging that assumption. studying the entanglement between finance, culture, and the arts. talking to many leaders in finance, we have come to understand that choosing a career in finance often comes with an aspiration to be surrounded by the highest craft: architecture, fashion, food, products, experiences, etc. we set out to build an identity that celebrates this pursuit. we wanted to respect the history of the institution, while being technology forward and side-stepping nostalgia slop. our research was mostly offline: visiting print magazine archives, hand-scanning buildings in fidi for material & texture, & talking to customers about design that motivates them. i think the work speaks for itself.

100% correct diagnosis and prescription. And it’s not just in Spain.

Software is increasingly treated as disposable in the AI era. Yet we spend half our waking lives looking at screens! We don’t want to spend that time with zombie products—monotonous, vacant, and uncared for. We want products with soul. 💜 I go deep on this in my talk from @lennysan's Summit: youtube.com/watch?v=GLvFTMtw…

I really enjoy designing these little interactions and "easter eggs," I hope the internet can do the job and @arantxabarcia can say hello to @A24.
Every era in this film was, at the time, the end of cinema. The zoetrope was a toy. Sound would ruin the actors. Colour was vulgar. Then TV, then video, then digital, then phones. Someone was always certain it was over. They were always talking about the equipment.

We’re hiring designers who are great at design. If you want to code too, great. But what we value most is clarity of thinking and your ability to create high-quality experiences. We have engineers and agents for the code part.
The job market is a tale of two cities right now. The difference I am noticing between the folks who are inundated with eye-watering seven-figure offers and those who have trouble finding a role is simply the ability to keep learning, adapting, and getting better. It's a brave new world out there. Gone are the days of sticky notes and following the "right process." Things to start doing : 1. Get comfortable with code. Like, now. If you missed the boat on trad code, plenty of IDEs to play with. Did you start yet? No?? I'm begging you, please. For me. 2. Build personal projects. What are you building in your free time? What is the real you, free from the shitty design systems that bind you, capable of? This also clearly demonstrates a builder's mindset and agency. 3. Work on your visual design and creativity. I think years ago, "complexity in the work" and "product thinking" allowed us to get away with weaker craft, but no more. Get weird, people. Have fun with your site and portfolio. Make something memorable. A great start would be @joshpuckett 's Interface Craft. 4. Get curious. It's a fucking designer's playground right now, there are so many fun tools out there to experiment with!

Shaders are one thing. But you can also ask the Figma agent for [[tools]] to bring the photocopy metaphor full circle
It's actually bonkers how easy it is to create new tools directly in the Figma editor Was messing around with a photocopier texture and first pass already looks pretty nice
