From the setting to the food, the worldbuilding in #witchqueenrising was critically important to me. One way I built that up was giving each character a distinct style. I would describe Phine's as somewhere between "dark feminine" and "whimsigoth." How would you?

It is so peculiar, and by peculiar I mean aggravating, to me that this is what is making conservatives break rank. THIS.

Don't just take my word for it, readers are loving #witchqueenrising. If you like immersive writing, a world you can sink your teeth into, & an underdog unafraid to bite back, you'll love this Southern Gothic dark fantasy debut arriving 4/21/26. Preorder: tr.ee/bwYval

Phine never goes looking for a fight. But she also never tolerates disrespect or being threatened. If someone is foolish enough to test the Tick Witch, she has no problem showing them how she earned that name. #witchqueenrising debuts 4/21, preorder or request an arc from 🔗🌲

Phine’s power as a Syphon paired with her acquired ability to sense intentions. She tastes feelings, magic, & even auras. It gives her invaluable insight & tools to survive the dangers she only occasionally finds herself in. To preorder: tr.ee/bwYval

So what is a Syphon? Phine is able to feed on magic and acquire the specialty of other witchkin. As I child, she got the ability to sense intentions & taste feelings. Fearing her, witchkin dubbed her a parasite and Phine became known as the “Tick Witch.”

Hey out there Beautiful Souls, I wanted to start diving deeper into the world of #witchqueenrising but figured some context would be helpful. So here is a little about Phine's family & witchkin. If interested, request an ARC or preorder here: tr.ee/bwYval

What's a witch without her familiar? @macthecrone inspired me to share my Sweet Boy. This is Sir Beaumont of Fluffbottom, Sir or Sir Fluff for short. My Beautiful Mountain can usually be seen curled up near wherever I am, being the best good boy, or terrorizing his toys.
