I don't mind authors and artists asking for appreciation for their works they put hours into making what I DO mind is acting like that puts you on the top of some made-up fandom hierarchy and calling other fans things like "peasants" and "freeloaders" is not it.

AO3 is not social media and we gotta stop treating fandom like a popularity contest. Kudos are nice, but they aren't gonna keep you warm at night. Hits are nice, but they don't pay my bills. Some of y'all need to relax and quit focusing so much on "stats." It's not a competition.
