This week on #TheMoment, I spoke with Detroit-born actor @NancyNagrantNYC about 'Crystal Lake' and Michigan's old film incentive program. She wonders if the state gave it enough time to pay off. wlns.com/originals/moment/na…

This 20-minute report by a British TV station gives viewers a fuller picture of Jewish anxiety than anything I've seen on CNN or MS NOW or Fox News this cycle. youtube.com/watch?v=RpzMsTYL…

At this point, Michiganders are being inundated with obscene amounts of Islamaphobia and racial division (drowning out any actual policy debates), at least in part so that politicians in other states can use it to fear monger and drum up votes for themselves.
The disconnect between cable news & local media right now is bizarre. Most voters I've spoken with are pissed off about the cost of goods, the cost of gas, how they are struggling to get by. They feel like lawmakers in both parties have done little to improve their lives.
There is real anxiety among the Jewish and Muslim communities. But national coverage of the Senate race is exacerbating that anxiety. This "two communities torn apart" narrative is good storytelling, but it's weak reporting. It's lazy. I can't wait for this election to end.
Support local journalism & read the AP's coverage of this race, which is supreme. apnews.com/article/rogers-el…

2024 wasn’t the “podcast election.” It was the fragmentation election, a few people just called it that because they thought it was interesting that Trump went on some podcasts they hadn’t heard of

Here’s what U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Detroit City Council’s Denzel McCampbell say they are doing to address anti-Blackness and Islamophobia: “It’s about talking about it. Some people don’t even want to call it that. Anti-Blackness exists in Arab, immigrant communities…”

Poll: For a plurality of Michigan voters, the ability to pay for health insurance and medical costs has eclipsed other concerns about gas or grocery prices; and a majority of voters said they trust Democrats the most to increase access to health care.

I cant tell you how many times I've seen this happen since. And it doesn't matter where you work. They did it to me at ProPublica too.

But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

NEW from me: With under a week to go in what many polls are showing as a still tight Senate race, Abdul El-Sayed hasn’t called his former primary opponent Haley Stevens in months — and there are no plans for them to campaign together before election day.

NEW with Tim Skubick: JD Vance doesn’t rule out Chinese cars ahead of Howell rally. “I think that we have to ask ourselves what’s in the best interest of American workers,” he said.

It feels disingenuous to say you're in the business of news and then proceed to ask Republican voters why they aren't voting for a Democrat for Senate.
