Bill Guerin isn't planning on begging Quinn Hughes to stay in Minnesota 😳
The Wild GM told @WCCORadio he hasn't discussed an extension with Hughes or his agent "in a long time," but the situation isn't keeping him awake at night 👀

Found this incredible: Boldy (1st), JEE (T-7th), Kaprizov (T-7th) are all among top eight in the league in shots on goal. The last time a team had 3 of the top 8?
50 YEARS AGO. The Leafs and Canadiens each had 3 in top 8 in 1976-77.
97-14-12 line has been absolutely dominant!
The Middle 6 hot mess as told by stats.

If QuHu walks at the end of the season without a trade happening, the only two statements GMBG can utter at the end of season presser are: “I gambled and lost”, and “QuHu flat out lied to my face.
In either scenario, the only outcome is the immediate dismissal of GMBG.

On This Date in 1987: With the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the sixth in Game 6 of the #WorldSeries, the Cardinals brought in the lefty Ken Dayley to face Kent Hrbek, who hit his first pitch over the center-field fence for the biggest grand slam in Twins history.

You need to split 97 and 12 cuz one line just isn’t sustainable but someone has to step up and produce with them. Not good at the moment.
But keeping Bogosity?
Lots to talk about!

Funny, unsolicited Mike Babcock quote about Danila Yurov, courtesy of @reporterJD, when asked about the Wild: "Obviously, they have real good players. They have good depth. I was real impressed. Who's 22? The Russian kid. He's really good. Yurov or something like that. He looks like a real player to me, too."

Goal types - for and against - are now on the HockeyStats team pages too.
Oh hey, the Penguins have allowed 1.27 goals off a high-danger pass per 60 this season. Worst in the league. By far. Crap.

Danila Yurov had the lowest faceoff percentage in the NHL last season for centermen who took at least 742 draws (39.2 percent). He's at 56.6 percent this season.
Tonight: Goal, four shots, eight attempted, 6 of 9 in the circle

John Hynes on Danila Yurov, who has 3 goals in his last 4 games, “He's going to be a top two line center. The way that he thinks the game, sees the game. Now we're starting to see his skating.”

By the number of coaches favoriting my video I have a suspicion this was a novel tactic, so here (in slow motion) is Quinnipiac on the power play running two guys up the gut, completing 5 passes between them, and scoring on the hapless Penn State ice hockey program.
