deadass this is what your life becomes if you either don’t start a family or have an (irl) available friend group
I’ve been doing the whole solo thing, ventured doing different activities for myself and GUYS it does not solve everything. We NEED other people to keep us sane.

Not me. I am self aware enough to know I have terrible traits. Just working on being a better person everyday.
Last night I kept looking up at the stars and asking Roman if he could show me a sign like a shooting star so I know he’s okay. Earlier tonight while driving home I saw the brightest, longest-lasting shooting star I’ve ever seen.
I can’t believe it has already been a whole week since I lost you, baby boy. I miss you more than words could ever describe. I love you so much, Roman. 😞💔

More than 16 years of education, yet no one taught us how to console a grieving friend or what to say when someone we love is at their lowest.
Right. Anyway, I’m 28 and have always lived at home, my Dad passed when I was 16 & I didn’t want to leave my Mom alone. We’re both moving in with my Paw by the end of this month because he no longer can live on his own due to age & a recent police brutality attack.
and you know what? I’m looking forward to being a family unit again, so to speak. I lived with my Nana & Paw for around a year when I was a preteen, I used to stay the night there as a kid almost more than in my own house. I’ve been so worried about my Paw and he needs us.

Brat is so interesting still because there is not a defining HIT (argue with the wall) but instead a handful of songs that really permeated the public consciousness (Apple, Girl, Guess, 365, 360) which is in some ways actually a lot better but it just so rarely happens that way

Losing a pet produces grief that is clinically comparable to losing a human family member, and a 2021 study in BMC Geriatrics found that older women who lost a companion animal experienced impacts on their physical health, daily routines, and sense of purpose that lasted for months.
The study explored the lived experience of pet bereavement in older women and found themes of profound loneliness, loss of daily structure, and a sense that a piece of their identity had died with the animal. The women described losing not just a companion but a reason to get up in the morning, a reason to walk, and a reason to talk.
The grief is often dismissed. "It was just a dog" is a sentence that pet owners hear from people who have never had the relationship, and the dismissal compounds the pain. Disenfranchised grief, the term psychologists use for grief that society does not validate, makes the mourner feel they have no right to their own pain, which delays recovery and deepens isolation.
The bond between a person and a pet is not a lesser version of a human bond. Brain imaging studies show that the same regions activated by looking at a photograph of a child are activated by looking at a photograph of a beloved dog. The attachment system does not check species. It checks connection.
If you know someone who just lost a pet and you are wondering whether to send flowers or a card, send it. The research says the grief is real, the loss is structural, and the person is mourning something the rest of the world keeps telling them is small. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3442…
