Hochul says sees sanitation workers on her morning walks. "Just don't hit me with the trucks when I'm crossing the street," she strangely jokes to boos. A woman was fatally hit by a Department of Sanition garbage truck while crossing the street earlier this week

What’s the gotcha here? The garbage trucks are just smol bean who do nothing wrong? It’s a bloodbath out there because of them.

Without getting into the whole thing of “is Cincinnati chili as good as pizza”, the world is not more affordable outside of NY and using policy and wealth to intentionally push out middle class residents is a forced migration project that voters don’t have to tolerate.

I was a teacher before law school. I couldn’t convince teenagers to wear deodorant. The idea that teachers are convincing kids that they should get sex changes is utterly ludicrous.

"You've got to clap like a seal when some 38 year old in the early-middle stages of alcohol-induced liver failure mumbles out 'women are whores' on SNL or white men will have no choice but to vote for fascism"
The response to Shane Gillis's joke is why we lose elections, by the way.

The e-bike licensing/registration safety argument completely falls when you point out that we have thousands of vehicles in the city with unreadable, ghost, or no license plates. The drivers of these vehicles are overrepresented in speeding or illegally parking

The thing about @vmmaloney’s Int 1004-2026 is that, as a pedestrian and commuting cyclist in her district, I do not feel comforted or protected by her support of the other anti-bike bills that @TransAlt rejects - I feel targeted by it, and disrespected for all it ignores

Don’t take my word for it, go to CB6. I was the last Transportation Chair and we covered this in depth. If this had come before my committee we’d have wondered why you prioritized this + a bunch of bike-blaming intros when it’s trucks that are crushing people to death

P.s. the rest of the internet calls this “the Nazi website” and you should have more feedback points on social media than the one run by the literal Nazi-saluting billionaire. Come join Keith and Harvey and literally the rest of the world on BlueSky?

Pretending that the US government behaves with any of the ideals implied here, or that it had with any consistency in any of the administrations before this one, is not productive. We handed over a lot of these powers long ago. Most people just don't care.

Is the US a democracy or is it turning into a fascist country, run by a dictator? The dictator who only allows nice things said about him in media, doesn't allow low polling numbers to be publicised and is bribing the people with $5k to vote for him. Is that really a democracy?

I hate to break up the Mensa gathering here but... This is a STATE bill
The reason the right are so anti Mamdani is pretty obvious. They don’t want you to see what your tax dollars being put to work the right way would actually look like. Then everybody would want that to happen everywhere.

The entire world would walk away from a race where a Dem was down 41-50 in a red state. But this... will be a horse race until 11pm election night!

We can't talk about de-funding the Murder Agency, though. That's too woke!
So this is attempted murder

“e-bike collision”? The driver of a giant truck ran over and killed a child
Heartbroken by the death of a 15-year-old following last night’s e-bike collision at East 14th Street and First Avenue. My thoughts are with her loved ones grieving this unimaginable loss, and I’m wishing the other young rider a full recovery. The investigation remains ongoing, and I am closely following it as we learn more.

I want to address this bc I think it’s important to understand. It’s not just SEC frat bros. As part of my background reporting, I kept a spreadsheet of maybe 50-60 handles that shared Maddie’s video/screenshots, etc when it first started going viral. Using various OSINT tools, reverse image search, etc, I tried to ID some of the people behind the accounts. Some were impossible to trace. But not all of them. The emails, LinkedIns, etc associated with these burner accounts came from all over the country (and, in one case, from the UK). They were current SEC students, yes, but there were also high school kids, Big 10 kids. Guys in their 20s and 30s. Dads. Husbands. Old-ass men. There was a HUGE range. These weren’t just UF frat bros dogpiling a sorority girl. They were often many, many years out of college. Grown men from all over the country taking pleasure in one girl’s sexual humiliation. Because they had the benefit of anonymity, they didn’t think they’d be held accountable for the disgusting things they were doing and saying. And as Maddie’s case proves, they were wrong.

You hit the nail on the head EJ it is ONLY THE SEC BURNERS. Great journalism here honey
