the obsession with reducing ten’s first us showcase tour to attendance figures is genuinely ridiculous tbh. he’s touring 14 cities, introducing himself as a solo artist to a new market and finally meeting fans he’s promised to visit for years. he’s already proven he can draw large crowds in thailand, so what exactly is the point of comparing completely different markets and tour formats? not every career move is about immediate profit. sometimes it’s about reaching new audiences and building something bigger in the long run, but apparently that’s too difficult for some of you to understand. and since we’re so concerned about numbers, can we also talk about the opportunities ten was actually given during his 10 years at sm? because i spent years watching that company waste so much of his potential. even his japan tour was held on a ridiculously small scale despite sold out shows and fans still demanding more dates. his concerts were screened in theaters multiple times too, so clearly the demand was there. the problem was never that ten couldn’t attract an audience, it was that sm never gave him enough opportunities to show what he was capable of. now that he’s finally left sm and is taking the initiative to expand his reach, promote himself properly and meet fans across the globe, you’re still finding ways to belittle his achievements because the venues aren’t big enough for your liking? like seriously, what exactly do you want from him? it’s genuinely embarrassing that this even needs to be said.
