How far back does Bidenโs blanket pardon reach? Is there a statute of limitations on government failures that contributed to the deaths of thousands of gay men during the AIDS crisis?
Fauci was no angel in the 1980sโ90s response. Letโs take a trip down memory laneโฆ
1983 JAMA: Speculated โroutine close contactโ household transmission resulting in media panic & stigma (later debunked as non-casual).
โข Pushed high-dose AZT (1987): Toxic (severe anemia, neutropenia, transfusions); trial short/unblinded; high dose later tied to excess deaths vs lower.
โข Slow on community PCP prophylaxis (aerosol pentamidine) amid staffing excuses. Patients died waiting.
Activists (ACT UP/Kramer) called him out for bureaucracy delaying access while thousands perished.
Reforms came later after protests. Lessons on urgency vs. caution.

The deck is stacked.
Vape shop owners can be fined, shut down, or sued for making unapproved health claimsโeven when discussing tobacco harm reduction. Their hands are tied.
Meanwhile, anti-vaping groups, media outlets, some doctors, and government agencies blast scary, clickbait headlines across social media every day with little accountability when the stories lack context or exaggerate the evidence.
The result? Millions of smokers are left confused, many falsely believing vaping is just as harmful as smoking. That's not public healthโthat's a failure of honest communication.
If misinformation deserves accountability, it should apply to everyone, not just the people selling legal products.

Laura Hunterโs comments raise an important issue but then draw the wrong conclusion.
The problem isnโt that vapes contain lithium-ion batteries. The problem is poor-quality, unregulated products.
Lithium-ion batteries are found in phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools and countless other everyday devices. When they are poorly manufactured, damaged or improperly handled, they can fail. This is not a problem unique to vaping.
The irony is that Australiaโs own policies have helped create a market dominated by illicit products that donโt comply with safety standards.
If, as claimed, around 95% of vapes are illegal imports, that is not evidence that regulated vaping has failed. It is evidence that prohibition has handed the market to suppliers with no incentive to meet quality or safety standards.
Using an incident involving what appears to be an illicit vape to argue for even more crackdowns ignores the obvious question:
Why are consumers forced into an overwhelmingly illicit market in the first place?
If public health genuinely cares about safety, the solution is to replace dangerous, unregulated products with regulated ones that meet manufacturing and battery safety standards not continue the policies that created the illicit market in the first place.

The whole "youth vaping epidemic" panic was a 10+ year lie, a manufactured narrative pushed hard by nonprofits like @truthinitiative, @TobaccoFreeKids, and their allies.
Goal? Stoke fear, secure funding, and justify stripping adults of safer nicotine options.
NYTS 2025 just proved it again: youth vaping and smoking both keep dropping hard, no gateway surge.
Smoking at record lows. They cried wolf for control. Adults deserve facts, not fearmongering. TEN years of denying harm reduction to WE the people.
Leave ADULTS alone.

I will remind you that these "professionals" (among others) predicted, with "#data and studies", a "gateway" to smoking by teens, and were WRONG:
@truthinitiative, @StevenStackMD, @VitalStrat, @ProfGlantz, @DrFrieden, @AmerAcadPeds, @TobaccoFreeKids, @ParentsvsVape.
Now what do you hear? Crickets.
What else do they lie about?
โSmart policyโ also means embracing Tobacco Harm Reduction for adults.
Vaping is ~95% less harmful than smoking per major independent reviews, and dedicated vape shops help thousands switch from deadly combustion.
Tobacco Stops With Me is funded by the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), which depends on ongoing payments tied to the very tobacco industry taxes and settlement dollars they advocate to increase that creating a self-perpetuating cycle that prioritizes higher revenue over proven harm reduction for adults.
States like Oklahoma should prioritize strict age enforcement, education, and supporting adult smokers who want to quit.
Punishing legal adult options with higher taxes, flavor bans, or zoning just drives business to the unregulated black market (the real source of youth access to cheap disposables).
Not one-size-fits-all restrictions that ignore the science of substitution.
Focus on what actually saves lives: helping adults quit cigarettes.
Evidence over ideology!

Southgate, KYโs new zoning ordinance (1,200 ft from schools/daycares, 600 ft between shops, no minors unaccompanied, etc.) is classic government overreach that hurts legal adult harm reduction while ignoring the real problem: illicit sales to youth.
Vape shops serve adults switching from deadly cigarettes. Vaping is ~95% less harmful per major reviews.
Restricting legitimate retailers doesnโt stop black market disposables flooding schools; it just makes it harder for smokers to quit and drives business to unregulated sources or online.
Focus on strict age enforcement, parental responsibility, and education instead of punishing small businesses serving consenting adults. This approach failed with prohibition-style tactics before and this displaces the problem without solving youth access.
Adult smokers switching saves lives. Letโs prioritize evidence over feel-good restrictions.

North Port High installing expensive vape detectors (29 cameras + 63 sensors) is classic security theater.
Itโs especially comical they picture bottles of open tank vape e-liquid. Most teens vaping illegally have zero idea what an open tank/RBA setup even is. Theyโre hitting cheap disposables and pods from the black/gray market, not mixing nic liquid like hobbyists.
Youth vaping rates have been declining for years (national high school are down 7-8% now, down from peaks).
Detectors wonโt stop determined kids. theyโre just wasting money that could go to actual prevention.

Here I fixed it for you using facts: This is Angelina Lopez-Jimenez (Guatemalan illegal immigrant) + her minor daughter, who had a **final order of removal/deportation since 2019** that they ignored for 7 years. She was lawfully being escorted by ICE to the international terminal for her flight back when she resisted and tried to flee. Her kid is just seeing the consequences of momโs choices to break the law and defy a court order. ICE enforcing existing immigration rules (pre-dating any new airport ops) isnโt โterrorizingโ anyone.
