On 2nd & 19… That is the worst defensive effort that I have ever seen. Awful. Had him for a loss of 5. A loss of 1. A gain of 1. A gain of 3. A gain of 8.
All ended up being a TD. #Purdue

I would be more upset about the goal line ref making a bad call that essentially couldn’t be reviewed, but bad teams don’t get the benefit of the doubt.
Yeah, Maryland was never set on that TD. Two straight plays where MD wasn’t set. Two missed calls. Such is life here for #Purdue.

Purdue fans, best to avoid the national CBB media accounts. They’ve been waiting for this opportunity.
Thats a wrap on my 20th season covering Northwest Indiana prep football in the region! I’ve loved every minute of it! Heres to 20 more! @HeartlandSN
One of these two takes might actually be correct... #Purdue
We #Purdue fans have a complex. Following the Gonzaga loss to open the season, I’ve consumed the usual talking head analysis. A pretty evenly contested bout, which was 1 possession in the final seconds of the game, the top 15 team wins, barely covering the spread. Pretty much exactly as it should have gone down.
A synopsis of what I’ve gathered from the hot-take artists.
#15 Gonzaga looked strong defeating a Purdue team by 6. This team is GOOD!
Other side of the mouth
Purdue is mid/poor, following a lackluster loss to #15 Gonzaga by 6. Major problems.
This is why Purdue fans are neurotic. I admit, too neurotic. Just illustrating why 😂.
Sorry to my #Purdue folk… you’ll be without my normal Boilerball brand of tweets, tonight. I will be highlighting Sectional Championship action in The Region as GameNight continues its non-stop prep football extravaganza! Go ahead and split screen us with @HeartlandSN! #NWI
Rest assured, I have the game on DVR. Spoilers welcome.

Braden Smith has looked better tonight than Kam Jones ever did in a Pacers uniform.
I am not an NBA fan but Braden Smith went for a double-double (19pts & 10ast) in his first career start. #Purdue #HesJustTall #PG1
Hey, #Purdue, this was pretty ok. (Despite a 78-72 loss). Gonzaga is pretty good.
We’ve achieved ref-show status. Thanks Jeffrey Anderson! (First game of the year). #Purdue #HighKneesGimmick
Diop picks up his 4th (but the officials don’t call it). #Purdue trails by 2 40-38 early 2nd.
