“Shamelessly tanking will create a loser culture!”
The Flyers culture as a result of them never shamelessly tanking:
Replying to @broadburnt @TheBeez1588
They HAVE been trying to increase their chances of drafting high. They've been sellers at every deadline. They've loaded up on draft picks. The team overperformed, as most Torts-coached teams do. They obviously value the culture they are building than they do shamelessly tanking.

"as far as they got"
THEY ONLY GOT THAT FAR BECAUSE NO LESS THAN 4 TEAMS IMPLODED IN MARCH......
How can they this fucking stupid. Is there lead in the water or something?
One of our most prominent trade chips isn’t getting a needle mover?
Can someone remind me how exactly is this rebuild supposed to be successful?
This Flyers team seriously thought about acquiring 30 year old Dylan Larkin this summer.
Larkin’s trade list may have saved the Flyers from themselves.

Couple of those idiots actually thought they were only a player or two away 🤣🤣🤣
Why is this team “way too comfortable?”
The Cultural Revolution rebuild was supposed prepare these guys for battle. Now they’re coasting after a miracle playoff appearance.

10/5 PHI @ TBL Postgame: Rick Tocchet
Briere gets a lot of flack for this quote, but it’s one of the few grounded things said during this mess of rebuild.
A lot of really naive people bought into a miracle 2nd round exit last season. At least the GM could see otherwise. If only he adjusted accordingly…
Why does the team still need to learn its ABCs?
This isn’t a new roster. It’s not a new coach. Wasn’t some that experience from last year supposed to carry over?
"I know everybody wants shots, everybody wants us to score and all that, but we've got to go through the ABCs to do that."
"It's still early in the year, small sample, but it's still alarming a little bit I would say."

Tocchet in his postgame presser suggests he hopes guys were working on their game over the summer because development doesn’t start in September.

“We’re not going to tank, these guys need to learn from the experience of remaining competitive.”
The ensuing culture:
Keith Jones goes on television to tap dance about how great the Flyers treat players. (“Now please sign with us!”)
Briere brags about how hypothetical UFAs could be open to signing in Philly.
How is this the plan? Is this really what they think is winning players over?
Good organization are good, so players naturally look the join them.
The Flyers tap dance on TV, to reporters, to insiders, etc. about how players should totally want to play in Philadelphia.
“We got shutout 7-0 in our season opener, but we’re really proud of our fans for applauding after that playoff series. The Carlsson offer sheet put us on the league’s radar”

Rick Tocchet when he’s not getting Vezina-level goaltending from Dan Vladar or Thatcher Demko:
Vladar regressing to “Not a Vezina candidate” would be another one of those very likely things that the Flyers somehow managed to not see coming.
This has been happening for 20 years. Even as a regular fan, I have known for years not to fall for the “next UFA class is amazing!” trap.
Somehow the Philadelphia Flyers hired a President who wasn’t aware of this.

I like the graphics that accounts always put out and say look out for the free agency class in 2 years and like 90% of them resign before July 1
