You might start to notice signs of disease or possibly herbicide damage in your fields. If you're not quite sure what you're looking at, the team at the UNL Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic is ready to help you get to the bottom of it. @NESoybeanBoard youtu.be/2whHvQr_qfg

This is the 3rd consecutive year for brownheaded ash sawfly in our area. By speaking to homeowners, none of these ash trees are being treated for EAB. So, while the number of sawfly larvae are astounding, they will not kill your ash. EAB will kill the tree. Protect your ash.
Holy ash sawfly Batman (a.k.a. @JodyBugsMeUNL)! These critters are out in force! Since this tree seems otherwise healthy, I would say no reason to be concerned #LeavesAreOverrated @BYFUNL @UNLPlantClinic @UNLExtension

We had great weather and a better crowd! They even hooked us up with Britney Spears mics! (But nobody wanted to see me dance…)
Thanks to everyone who joined us for a live taping of "Backyard Farmer" on the city campus of @UNLincoln. People can watch the show tonight at 7pm CT on Nebraska Public Media. #NebExt

Don’t forget to scratch the lesions (maybe with some spit…)! Most of the lesions I looked at were bug💩, but the last was tar spot. Apologies for the less-than-great picture of phialides streaming from the stromata
We had a positive ID of Tar Spot from some plant samples we found last week. It's early. It's here. Scout the corn. If you don't want to or don't know what you're looking for, WE SCOUT.

These flowers have flowers! #AsterYellows is a common disease that results in abnormal growth. Who knew a trip to the Vital Records office would be so exciting… – at Lincoln, NE

Hunting for ‘shrooms can be loads of fun, but make sure to get them properly ID’d before eating them! Look-alikes exist; your local extension offices can help, or send to @UNLPlantClinic for confirmation. As they say, “All mushrooms are edible… some only once” 🤤🤢🤮☠️

@brode182 we have mystery mushroom that we could use your help with ID. Many were growing from over an old/buried cottonwood stump near Schuyler, NE. Looks like oyster mushrooms but with the rough cap. Can you help?

“We don’t need to hire someone to prep this ground for planting- it’s not too big and I have a potato fork and rake.” Famous last words I guess… One of these days I’ll learn to listen to my wife’s advice… but apparently today isn’t it. #WorkCheaperNotSmarter
