Having unlimited beer and smoked sausage at a neighborhood Oktober-ish fest hosted at a church. There's live music, food trucks, and families with kids having a lovely saturday
I love Austin
Barbecue Dads have a whole-ass smoker pulled up in the parking lot for the sausages. Vegan sausages are available. They enthusiastically said they'd put one on just for me and I should come back in 15 minutes
Microsoft was really cooking with every UX they released between like, 2008 and 2012. Maybe the last really artful user interface design we ever got
PSA: if you're working on a computer project, and you have a big monitor, you can just turn part of your screen into a mood-board of inspirational material
I've spent probably a total of 8 hours researching and writing and iterating on a 3,575-word spec for an app that will be handed off to Claude. Probably got at least another 1,000 words to go. Having a blast
Lmaoooo why is MS Paint a network server

blocking data centers is a crude way to push back, but it's the only way they can, because land-use laws are already on the books and lawmakers have never had the appetite to actually regulate tech in any meaningful way

An evangelical calling someone else "not a real Christian" at this point just means that person is beyond the evangelical's control, and the evangelical is upset about it.
Maybe that person's theology is bad. Maybe it's good. But we'll have to find out from some other source.
I rarely post about politics. I don't believe in culture war or tribalism, and I'm deeply glad we have norms here against those.
But for me, Trumpism is not a matter of politics or policy or disagreeing tribes. It's a matter of the most basic possible human values.
I sincerely hope the Republican party comes off of this bender, looks itself soberly in the mirror, and finds its way back to being a party with any principles or integrity at all. Even principles I may disagree with.
