Danny Ellerd was so ill that jail refused to take him. He weighed just 92 pounds, and an infected hand was threatening his life.
In 2021, after years of addiction and homelessness, two bounty hunters found him on outstanding warrants.
He says his hand was so swollen from injecting drugs that they couldn’t handcuff him.
At the jail, a nurse insisted he needed a hospital instead.
Doctors saved his hand, and his life.
After treatment, Ellerd entered recovery through Hope Is Alive.
He later enrolled at Oklahoma State University, studying Computer Information Systems while working and managing a recovery home.
He graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
By October 2026, he reported five years of sobriety, two college degrees and a job helping people move out of homelessness.
He also wrote a book called Recovery Is Possible.

SO FUCKING RACIST! Not only did they call the police, but his team refunded his money and kicked them off the team.
🚨🚨🚨Yes, a 3-year-old soccer player named Nevada was removed from his youth league, and his family received a refund after police were called to the field.
What Happened
•The Incident: Nevada was playing in an i9 Sports youth soccer league in Winter Park, Florida. At 3 years old, he was playing in a division against children around 5 years old.
•
•The Complaints: Opposing parents complained that Nevada was dominating possession, keeping the ball too long, and scoring multiple goals (reportedly scoring up to 10 in a game) because the older children could not take the ball away from him. Some parents accused the toddler of "trying to put on a show".
•
•Police Involvement: The league issued a trespass notice against the family, and police officers arrived to escort Nevada and his parents away from the field in front of the other children and spectators.
•
•The Aftermath: The family was removed from the program and received a full refund for their Fall 2026 registration, sharing footage of the incident on social media where it went viral
