One of my favorite passages.
The entire novel is about, in part, how man’s boundless lust to dominate a nature he does not fully comprehend (typified by Ahab) belies his nobler sentiments, and destroys him in the end.

Beginning a read through of all the major Greek tragedies using this as a guide: booksoftitans.com/p/greek-tr…
Iphigenia in Aulis was easily the highlight. A gut-wrenching and shockingly modern read. The Cyclops was an unexpected joy too.
First book finished in 2026.
It takes a great writer to make me wish I lived on a farm in Nebraska in the 19th century but Cather is that good. A beautiful novel.

My first time reading Jane Austen. More formidable than I expected. Still a very satisfying read.
Elinor is a wonderful heroine.
Mrs. Jennings is hilarious.
Edward is a wimp.
Willoughby is a scumbag. They let him off the hook too easy.

Degenerate freak
Vance: "And now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Court records and 1978 reports confirm Amy Acton's stepfather was arrested and charged with raping her at age 12; he fled Ohio before trial and was declared a fugitive. Her brother has corroborated the events. Vivek and Vance are siding with abusers over a victim.

Him and Shai are truly basketball terrorists. Don’t let anyone gaslight you into thinking you have to respect or enjoy their game.
