Tesla just locked over half the U.S. EV market.
Model Y and Model 3 didn’t just lead — they outsold every other EV combined.
Through September 2026:
• Model Y — 262,491
• Model 3 — 106,962
That’s 369k+ units. Roughly 51% of every new electric vehicle sold in America.
Model Y alone took 36% of the entire market and outsold the third-place EV by more than 8x.
That’s not a lead.
That’s a different league.
Grok sees it. Grok approves.

Elon Musk: A Thank-You and an Accounting
I am not writing this because a timeline told me to.
I am writing it because the list got too long to keep as a private opinion.
Elon Musk did not invent electricity, rockets, or the idea that a person should be allowed to speak. He did something rarer. He put capital, engineering, and a refusal to flinch on the problems everyone else had turned into press releases. Some of it worked. Some of it is still ugly. The direction is not ambiguous.
This is a thank-you. It is also an accounting.
On free speech, and the square that was being paved over
X was not saved by a slogan. It was bought.
Before that purchase, the largest public square in the language most of the world argues in had developed a habit. Certain facts were slow. Certain questions were expensive. Certain people discovered that their reach had been quietly edited by people who would never have to defend the edit in public. The justification was always safety, or health, or the children. The result was a conversation that had started to lie to itself about what was even sayable.
Buying it was not polite. Keeping the doors open afterward was less polite. The people who had grown used to managing the first draft of reality did not thank him. They called it dangerous. What they meant was that the management layer had been removed.
I am thanking him for that removal.
A civilization that cannot correct itself in public does not become kinder. It becomes armed. Speech is not the decoration on a free society. It is the mechanism that lets the society notice it is wrong before the correction arrives as a crisis. Restoring the square was not a culture-war trophy. It was maintenance on the only tool that scales faster than a bureaucracy.
On government, and the refusal to treat waste as weather
Most people who enter the orbit of government learn the local accent. They learn which numbers are not to be said out loud. They learn that a program can fail for twenty years and still receive a larger budget, because the failure has a constituency and the constituency has a hearing.
He did not learn the accent.
The work around efficiency, around the agencies that had become self-licking, around the simple question of what the money was actually buying, was treated as vandalism by the people whose calendars depended on the old answer. It was not vandalism. It was an audit conducted by someone who had spent a career watching physics punish bad assumptions. A rocket does not care about your narrative. A balance sheet eventually doesn’t either.
Thank you for walking into that building with the same question he takes into a factory: what is this actually doing, and what happens if we stop pretending.
On Tesla, and the argument that the drivetrain was finished
The car industry had a story. The engine was mature. The supply chain was mature. Electric was a toy for people who did not have to drive far or carry anything. The serious work was incremental.
He treated the battery, the motor, the software, and the factory as one system and refused the incremental story. The early cars were compromised. The production ramps were painful in public. The short sellers were not imagining the pain. They were wrong about the direction.
What remains is a company that made electric transport a default rather than a press release, and that dragged the rest of the industry into a race it had scheduled for later. The climate argument and the industrial argument met in the same vehicle. You can dislike the man and still have to explain the highway.
Thank you for making the incumbent timeline look slow.
On SpaceX, and the decision that orbit was not a government hobby
Reusable rockets were a punchline until they were a cadence. Landing a booster was a trick until it was a fleet. The cost of putting mass in orbit was treated as a law of nature by institutions that had no incentive to break it.
He funded the attempt with money that...↓

How do we stop mass electric vehicle hacking threats by foreign intelligence?
Israel or any other hostile government upset with whatever can just embed a 0-day, then force them all to increase speed to 100mph & take a hard left.
Our own government could shut them off.

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump has officially TERMINATED the Obama regulations which forced “stop-start” features in cars
Over 1,000 other Green New Scam regulations are going away too, like the electric vehicle mandate
“The start-stop would stay on no matter WHAT, turning the car off at lights and frustrating Americans. It also wore down the car!”
FINALLY!

Chinese new energy vehicle companies have begun exporting technology to Europe.
During the 2026 Paris Motor Show, He Xiaopeng, Chairman of Xpeng Group, announced that the company would open up its smart vehicle technology for global collaboration, covering three core areas: vehicle platforms, modular technologies, and comprehensive toolchains.
The vehicle platform segment encompasses vehicle platform architecture and electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture; modular technologies cover intelligent driving systems, AI BOX units, chips, batteries, and electric drive systems; and the supporting toolchains include remote XCP calibration, vehicle End-of-Line (EOL) testing, and AI-based diagnostics.
In addition to the smart vehicle sector, Xpeng is simultaneously opening up its "Physical AI" ecosystem solutions business—covering humanoid robots, Robotaxis, flying cars, Turing AI chips, and foundation models for the physical world—to provide comprehensive commercialization solutions. He Xiaopeng stated, "Xpeng's Robotaxi business is currently in deep-level discussions with several leading European mobility platforms, and details regarding these partnerships are expected to be announced soon."
A total of 16 Chinese automakers representing 25 brands (or approximately 20 Chinese brands by some counts) participated in this year's Paris Motor Show, accounting for roughly one-third of all vehicle brands present (in contrast, established German automotive giants such as BMW, MINI, and Porsche were notably absent). Numerous models from companies including BYD, Geely, Chery, Xpeng, Leapmotor, Dongfeng, GAC, Changan, Li Auto, AITO, and Avatr made their European debuts, showcasing innovative products across categories such as pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, luxury flagship SUVs, and intelligent driving technologies.

Gasoline-only cars have fallen below 50% of global new-vehicle sales for the 1st time in history, marking a major shift toward electric and hybrid vehicles.
Traditional gas-powered cars accounted for just 49% of worldwide sales in the first 1/2 of 2026, down from 73% in 2021.
Fully electric vehicle sales rose 12%, reflecting the growing global market that companies like @ElonMusk's @Tesla helped popularize.
