The disingenuousness of this tweet is off the charts. According to this POS's own definition, nothing written on that bus is antisemitic...it's perfectly acceptable anti-Israel "resistance" rhetoric. And no one has fanned the anti-Israel flames more than Mr Mayor himself.
The antisemitic vandalism targeting school buses in South Williamsburg is abhorrent. Every New Yorker — especially our children — deserves to live free of such hatred. My team is in contact with the NYPD and community leaders. We will continue to use every tool at our disposal to confront antisemitism, hold those responsible accountable and ensure that hatred has no place in our city.

Modern politics has become exhausting and deeply depressing. It's a real-life Game of Thrones, characterized by fealty to party, relentless demonization of opponents, an increasingly pervasive belief that the ends justify the means, and a seemingly greater obsession with accumulating political power than working together toward a more perfect union. And the Michigan senate race encapsulates so much of what is broken in our politics. The extreme rhetoric on both sides isn't just depressing; it's intellectually insulting and profoundly destructive. We're constantly told that democracy itself hangs in the balance. Vote for us, or the other side will destroy everything we hold dear. For starters, nearly every accusation one side levels at the other can be mirrored: executive overreach, gerrymandering, stacking the courts, weaponizing the Justice Department, crony capitalism, and on and on. More importantly, the caricatures we paint of the other side are patently absurd and corrosive to the fabric of a decent society. Democracy will not die because Donald Trump is elected president. New York will not spontaneously combust because Mamdani is elected mayor. Republicans are not conspiring to strip Americans of healthcare, dismantle education, eliminate voting rights, or destroy the environment. Democrats are not seeking urban anarchy, open borders, or the destruction of American business. Republicans are not fascists. Democrats are not communists. With the exception of extremists on both sides, neither Democrats nor Republicans are inherently evil, immoral, or existential threats to our country. Most reasonable people across the political spectrum share the same fundamental aspiration: to make America the best country it can be. They simply bring different values, priorities, experiences, and perspectives to the question of how best to get there. At the end of the day, We can disagree profoundly about the consequences of one another's policies without assuming that our opponents are motivated by cruelty, hatred, or a desire to destroy the country.
I've been in politics a long time. This election cycle has brought out some of the worst in people. I've never seen as much Islamaphobia than what I've seen leveled against Abdul El-Sayed (D-MI). I've never seen a campaign more anti-Semitic than the one Abdul El-Sayed is running. People are advocating against Vivek Ramaswamy (R-OH) because he's Indian. Ramaswamy is weaponizing his opponent's childhood abuse as a campaign tactic. Bo French (R-TX) has called for the removal of Native Americans, Indians, Chinese, Muslims, and others. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is running an ad full of racist Asian stereotypes. Graham Platner (D-ME) sported a Nazi tattoo and made a litany of racist and sexist comments. He was defended by Democrats until abuse allegations arose. Every single one of these disgusting tactics is defended in the name of winning. Winning is NOT a virtue. Be better.

I doubt many fully appreciate the magnitude of what is being reported in this piece. First off, it is 100% accurate and as a large owner of this type of product I can confirm from first hand experience that this is exactly what is happening. Lenders are arguably the most rational economic actors and their decision to flee the affordable housing market is a direct result of conditions on the ground. The situation is absolutely dire - rents (and thus revenues) are frozen, the % of those revenues that are collectable has fallen dramatically (as a direct result of "tenant protection" policies), and costs are growing at a rate substantially above inflation. On top of it all, interest rates have risen 400bps+ over the past few years further constricting available cash flow critical to operate these buildings. The net result of absolutely horrendous government policy has been to choke off critical cash necessary to operate affordable housing for the most vulnerable populations in the city. Yes, the landlords get hurt, which I'm sure will make many happy. But much worse off are all the affordable tenants that continue to see the quality of their housing crumble, as well as those desperately in need of housing that are unable to find it because developing, owning and operating these assets (whether for-profit or not-for-profit) has become economically impossible.

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people. Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent! But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest. You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful. Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway. This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

Three plays last night give you an idea of how much Nick Emmanwori can do. 1) Blitzes, forces an errant throw for an INT 2) Lines up at DE, sets an edge, makes a tackle 3) Covers Xavier Worthy (4.21 speed), forces an incompletion Said JSN: “Most versatile player in the league."

This is one of the most antisemitic things I've ever seen in a political ad, and it's for Abdul El-Sayed. The message: your life is hard, groceries are expensive, and the Jewish state is why. Total madness!
This is one of the most comical ads this election cycle. Yes, Americans are chatting at the grocery store about how they can’t buy groceries because their tax dollars “go to Israel” 🙄 😂 nevermind the fact that Israel has invested 100% of military aid in the U.S. economy since Oct 7, and has also purchased over $1 billion *additional* in arms, according to DoD. Federal military aid is also prohibited from being spent on anything other than U.S. arms, so the line about healthcare is even more comical. El Sayed and his Islamist fans like Cenk Uygur want and expect American voters to be so stupid they never check. Not only is this ad insane, conspiratorial, and antisemitic — it is also flat out false. El Sayed isn’t for the people of Michigan, he isn’t even for America. He is for the Muslim Brotherhood.

Wow the comments here are wild. Gotta hand it to Brad Lander, he managed to unite all sides on one issue...their mutual disgust of him.
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured. I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response. I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image. For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

Want to make sure you lose millions? Think your smarter then everyone else? Believe profit is a sin and housing is a human right? Then you should buy this rent stabilized property. Gut renovate it and rent it out at the current rents.

A candidate for the U.S. Senate says Israel is not America's friend. I'm Israeli. I grew up in Israel. My family is Israeli. And I can tell you this: Few nations hold America as close to their hearts as Israelis do. Fact: Israelis admire America. 81% of Israelis view the United States favorably - the highest percentage among 36 countries surveyed by Pew in 2026. Who else in the Middle East does? No other U.S. ally can have 200 fighter jets in the sky in 3 hours notice. Modest compared with America's military might, certainly. But backed by something more important: a profound commitment to the United States, regardless of who occupies the White House. Security is real. Capabilities are real. And friendship is real too. This candidate understands nothing of it. He is trying to pick up votes through hate. None of this requires defending Netanyahu. None of it requires endorsing everything Israel has done in recent years. It requires understanding one fact: Israel America's most enduring ally in the Middle East. Criticizing an Israeli government is legitimate. Pretending Israel is America's enemy is something else entirely. Any other notion is just bigotry masquerading as conspiracy theory- or conspiracy theory masquerading as bigotry.

The ratio is glorious
From the high schools of France to the streets of Madrid to the universities of Tirana, young people are telling their governments the same thing: in an age of massive wealth inequality, they want a future they can believe in. In France, students and teachers are asking for safe schools, enough teachers and smaller classes. In Spain, for affordable rent and housing. In Albania, for good jobs and an end to corruption. @JDVance says this is what happens when a nation lets in too many immigrants from the global south. He is not just morally wrong, but misreading the moment. The is what happens when nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few. This is what happens when young people lose hope in their future. In America, let us listen to our young. We need an economic and political transformation. America's Next New Deal.

We call on France to exercise restraint when dispersing the freedom fighters on the streets of Paris. These brave warriors for justice must receive immediate humanitarian aid, and their safety must be guaranteed in accordance with international law. Failure to comply will leave us no choice but to bring a case before the ICJ, in close cooperation with that renowned champion of human rights, Afghanistan.

Both sad and scary. Once again, as always throughout the arc of history, the small tribe of the Jews has become the punching bag of the dissatisfied and disenfranchised. This never ends well for the Jews or those societies that project their problems onto them.
Waiting at gate at Tel Aviv airport to go back to US, checked my email. A reader of my Substack wrote this below. It's terrifying to me, but we have to know this is real, so we can fight it. I'm a 59-year-old Gen Xer; v. few people my age & older have any idea this is going on.
