As BTS continues their ARIRANG World Tour across South America, local experts say their success goes beyond music.
✨ Their message resonates with young people. Chilean political science professor Constanza Jorquera says BTS’s lyrics about self-love and their messages inspire young people and foster a sense of connection. The members’ hard work and resilience also help fans relate to them.
✨ Their social messages set them apart. Peruvian sociologist and anthropologist Ademar Díaz Aparicio praised BTS for exploring meaningful social themes that other groups often don't address, allowing them to carve out their own path.
✨ ARMY is helping spread their music. In Argentina, fans have organized listening gatherings, translated Korean lyrics together, and shared BTS music and content on social media, helping expand the group's local reach.
📈 The streaming numbers speak for themselves:
🇨🇴 Colombia: BTS streams rose approximately 300% over the past three years, accounting for nearly one-third of all K-pop streams in the country. Billboard Colombia also reported around 250 million local streams, among the highest totals for Korean artists.
🇦🇷 Argentina: BTS streams on Spotify increased approximately 200% from October 2025 to September 2026 compared with the previous 12 months.
🇧🇷 Brazil: Billboard Brazil reported a 727% surge in local streams following BTS’s return to full-group activities.
