Design tokens decide whether your system lives or dies. After 10+ years of refining, I've built a model that scales across product teams and AI agents: The GTC token model (Global, Theme, Component) Here's how it works ↓

Just launched makefaster.dev, an autoresearch loop for speeding up your frontend. I spent ~$10k in fable api credits speeding up the top 200 github repos, took the learnings and tracked the most common wins. The loop iterates through them to find speedups.

Look at macOS. Apple spent so much time designing marketing Liquid Glass. Two years in, very little of it has made it to the Mac. Menus, alerts, dialogs. They open instantly. Some of the glass. Almost none of the liquid. Where work happens, the interface should feel instant.
To understand how little you should animate, open the app you use every day and count how many things are animated. Almost none.

I'm using Concentric Scaling for pill-shaped elements. It's a technique where an icon's center matches the container's sides, keeping spacing aligned across every component size.
