Canada needs better law to prevent premiers from going to other countries to discuss foreign policy.
Federal gov'ts speak for the whole country & have a disciplined one voice approach.
Egregiousness of Daniel Smith & Pierre Plamadon ignoring sensible rules leads to divisive BS.

Impressive group so expectations high on results for #canada AI directions.
Canada just announced its new National Council on Artificial Intelligence.
I'm not one to carry water for the government but take a look at the people around the table:

• @Yoshua_Bengio — Turing Award winner; pioneer of deep learning; founder of Mila.
• @FidlerSanja — co-founder & CEO of Veeda AI; former VP of AI Research at NVIDIA; co-founder of Vector Institute.
• @JohnGrisham — President & CEO of CPP Investments.
• @ghadfield — Johns Hopkins professor specializing in AI alignment, governance and law.
• @JordanJacobs10 — co-founder of Radical Ventures, Vector Institute and Layer 6 AI, which was acquired by TD.
• EricLamarre — MIT lecturer; former head of McKinsey Technology & AI in North America; co-author of Rewired.
• @vpisano_mila — President & CEO of Mila, one of the world’s major AI research institutes.

Reuters just released a sneak peak of Anthropic financials, showing the company reported a net loss of $42 billion in 2025 - and this is before it started losing market share to dirt cheap open source models
Anyone still wondering why the company is threatening to end humanity unless the government shuts down their competition?

Seems still too close to identity the right candidate.
The five candidates in the Nov. 21 race to become Ontario's next Liberal leader have been floating policy ideas, but for the most part without a lot of specifics or thestar.com/politics/provinc…
Seems China is the new global leader in promoting the UN goals and objectives. Quite a turn of events.

True. China established itself on the World stage as the #1 Economy & Super Power without firing a shot. China at the UN the day after Xi Jinping's visit to Washington. Sober & clear.

My iPhone got stolen. The thief plugged it in to charge.
That second, the front camera took a photo and emailed it to me with the exact GPS location.
Not a third-party app. A built-in automation I set up in 5 minutes using the Shortcuts app that comes on every iPhone.
The thief's face. The address where my phone was charging. In my inbox. Before the thief even unlocked the screen.
I showed the photo and location to the police. They recovered the phone the same day.
A cybersecurity consultant who sets up this automation for every client said: "This is the most effective anti-theft setup on any smartphone and 99% of iPhone users have never configured it. It takes 5 minutes. It uses the Shortcuts app that's already on your iPhone. It runs silently. And it catches the one thing every thief eventually does: plug the phone in to charge."
He showed me 9 more iPhone anti-theft features most people never activate Stolen Device Protection, Find My network tracking, Activation Lock, Lost Mode, a trigger-word automation that works from any phone, and 4 other settings that make a stolen iPhone nearly useless to a thief and nearly guaranteed to come back to you.
"Every iPhone has a $1,000+ anti-theft security system built in. Most owners have configured zero of it. They lose the phone. They panic. They wish they'd spent the 15 minutes it takes to set everything up. Don't be that person."
Here's the complete anti-theft setup step by step 🧵

Oh Canada our home and native land!
Canada was just named the most trusted and admired country on Earth! 🍁
We rank 3rd best globally for Quality of Life, heavily outperforming the USA while rapidly building new global trading partners. 🌎
Our global titles in 2026:
🥇 #1 Friendliest Country
🥇 #1 Most Loved Country
🥈 #2 Most Polite Country
🥉 #3 Kindest Country
Furthermore our nation has the greatest education: Canadian students consistently rank #1 among all English-speaking nations for reading, mathematics, and science literacy. 📚
On top of that, Prime Minister Mark Carney has hit a historic 70% approval rating as we stand strong on the world stage.❤️
To anyone mocking Canadians: this is your reminder that Canada is officially the best. 🇨🇦

Should Canada Explore Negotiations to Acquire Minnesota?
There’s a growing conversation about whether Canada should enter discussions on acquiring Minnesota as a province, and it’s worth asking the question openly and confidently.
Such an idea may sound bold, but Canada has always thrived when it thinks creatively about its future, its borders, and its partnerships. Exploring negotiations isn’t about aggression or overreach — it’s about peaceful dialogue, mutual benefit, and long‑term stability for both sides.
Minnesota shares deep cultural, environmental, and economic ties with Canada. Its industries, from mining to agriculture to technology, align naturally with Canadian strengths.
The state’s strong commitment to public services, environmental stewardship, and community‑driven governance mirrors Canadian values. A negotiated arrangement could strengthen continental security, expand economic opportunity, and create a more resilient northern region in the face of climate and geopolitical challenges.
Most importantly, any discussion would be rooted in respect for Minnesotans themselves. If they ever expressed interest in closer alignment with Canada, we should be ready to listen.
Asking the question isn’t radical — it’s responsible. Canada has always believed in diplomacy, cooperation, and neighbourly problem‑solving.
Exploring possibilities is how strong nations like Canada prepare for the future.
