St. Alban, 3rd century protomartyr of Britain, patron saint of converts (which I am) and refugees (which my family is).
His bravery and devotion struck me like the story of St Stephen. I just love British ancient/medieval history too.
So sad that people will blow up their family over nothing- no abuse, no adultery, not even a fight. And for what, dating again at 50? Hookups from apps? I'd call it selfish, but there's so little in it for most people that it's utterly nihilistic.
My wife and I decided to get a divorce.
There were no fights, just two adults who realised they drifted apart from each other.
This is probably the hardest thing I had to go through.
First of all, telling our girls...seeing them so sad was heartbreaking. But we are still a team as parents and will do everything for them!
Also we have to sell our house, the house I wanted to live in forever and raise my kids in...
Going back to a smaller appartment will be rough.
I still have a lot of to handle, that's why I wasn't active here on X.
I'm really grateful for all the people who reached out and asked where I was 🙏🏼
This women will always be a part of my life, she gifted me with two perfect daughters.
I wish her all the best, great memories were made in those years!
I'll be back soon. Thank you everyone 🙏🏼
This story is revealing that most people so not understand basic physics. You do not slam into the ceiling no matter how fast you're going unless the vehicle is accelerating downward faster than the acceleration of gravity pulling you against the floor.
Wait a minute.
If the aircraft went into a steep plunge while this young girl was supposedly in the lavatory — unbuckled, wouldn't her body basically hit the ceiling? How did she not suffer any injuries?!
Help me out here @grok
Secular culture cannot accept that consensual sex can be traumatizing to women, morally wrong, and even worthy of punishment. Moral intuition leads them to the right conclusions but they twist themselves into knots trying to rationalize why it was actually nonconsensual.
Any woman who participates in a drug fueled orgy should expect to feel raped, and any man should expect her to react accordingly. Everyone in this story is too dumb to live and should be shamed as a deterrent to future generations.
The texts between her and her male friend/alleged rapist are so sad. She trusted him and he betrayed her. I am just so sad for this girl.

People would be a lot happier doing laundry if they had clotheslines. Hanging and folding laundry outside, standing in the grass on a sunny breezy day is the best chore. Dryers create drudgery.
If you want your clothes to last longer than 6 months and don’t want to walk around looking disheveled, laundry is actually a Herculean task and truly the most annoying part of running a house. It is constantly pilling up, you are forever drowning in it, just when you get through a load there’s now two more waiting for you somehow. If men were responsible for properly doing the laundry for an entire household they’d abandon their families en masse.
Most time and labor saving technologies don't reduce workload in practice because lifestyles expand to adjust to their presence. The mechanization of laundry just meant people wash more clothes than ever.
Dudes keep devaluing laundry saying it is no big deal “It’s 10 minutes a week max…”
Idk what kind of hovel you live in, but this is my regular weekly laundry rotation. It is usually 10 loads of laundry every week. It is a massive chore, it is a daily chore, it takes hours of my life
Work uniform (5 pairs of clothes)
Regular adult load (14 pairs of clothes)
Kid load (at least 14 pairs of clothes, usually more, my kids get real dirty)
Whites
Delicates (dance, gymnastics, swimsuits & undergarments-sometimes every other week depends how dirty)
Towels (sometimes 2 loads if we use extra pool towels)
Kid bedding x1
Kid bedding x2
Adult bedding (usually 2 loads)
Bathroom & kitchen rugs (every other week)
In the Bible, God always allowed nations that sacrificed children to be conquered and replaced by foreigners.
Killing one's children is widespread in non-abrahamic (esp non-Christian) history & likely reflects a latent biological impulse that can arise under perceived duress in species w high investment parental care. A not-insignificant portion of women want this to go unpunished.
Absolutely wild to see the Lindsay Clancy thing make feminists horseshoe back around to "women shouldn't be treated equally under the law because our wombs make us crazier than men"
Men can experience depression and psychosis in many forms. Men can come home from combat with ptsd, which I’d venture to say is a more harrowing experience even than child birth. You have never in your life defended a man who murdered his kids because his mind was warped from combat. You are trying to separate postpartum depression as some special thing that carries with it special privileges, up to and including murder. It is nothing but special pleading. And all you’ve really managed to do is make the case that any woman with PPD is liable to murder her kids, and if she does it’s not her fault. I’m not sure that’s really the precedent you want to set. But you’re so desperate to excuse the mass execution of three innocent children that you’ll even indict every postpartum mother as a potential homicidal maniac to do it. You’re an absolute fool, in other words. And morally deranged on top of it.
Yes, this will definitely win over the zoomers and not drive them into the arms of the communists
The student loan issue brings out my paternalistic side. Most people are not smart enough to understand the near infinite complexities of the modern world, like interest on loans. Charity often means curtailing their freedom to make poor decisions.
My baby decided that she wanted to be Miss Independent and stop cosleeping. She's growing up but I will miss those sweet days terribly.
The origin of modern men's pants were also the origin of the modern left wing. The sans-culottes of the French revolution hated religion (esp Catholicism) and tradition, but they changed men's standard wear across the West from breeches and hose to trousers.
Many have said that conservatives are just liberals who are 20 years behind. They always adopt whatever liberals promote, they just wait a while first.
Nowhere is this clearer than on the subject of women wearing pants.
It's not logically different from men wearing skirts. It was promoted by feminists, popularized by progressives, and pushed by subversives of a type that conservatives have always loudly proclaimed to disagree with.
It was a radical departure from the "tradition" that conservatives always claim to defend -- one that would have caused intense opprobrium amongst conservatives just a few years before it became popular...
But ultimately, they went for it. And the conservatives didn't just accept this feministic idea -- they now promote it more enthusiastically than the liberals do, even while vocally claiming to oppose feminism. Go to a farmer's market in Brooklyn and count the women in long skirts. Now do the same in a deep-red suburban area, or at a GOP-leaning Megachurch... big difference.
If I were a liberal, I'd be laughing about this. I'd be supremely self-satisfied at the idea that the people who oppose me and my politics the loudest are the ones who will, in 20 years' time, do exactly what I want them to do -- with more enthusiasm than I ever did it with.
This is why the GOP in the year 2045 may very well be a GOP of weed-smoking transgender politicians who all agree that abortion is OK until the third trimester. They'll argue passionately against legalizing methamphetamine (though cocaine will be OK) and in favor of restrictions on partial-birth abortion that make it "safe, legal, and rare." And all of the men will show up to Congress in floofy pink skirts and high heels...
Mark my words.
